15-9-2008 - near fainting..

My mood while writing this blog:
confused?

lately for absolutely no reason i have been almost fainting. the other day i was at kmart & i was on the phone with my mom. i started staring at this pair of really sharp scissors & i kept thinking about cutting skin witht the sissors (because my mom was on the phone with me talking about getting a skin tag cut off) it was really making me feel sick & then all of the sudden i started to feel really light headed. my stomach started to hurt really bad & i started hearing a really sharp ringing noise in my head. i could barely see anything..it all started to black out & it was harder to get my breathe in. i had to sit down & lay my head in my lap & breathe..my mom stayed on the phone with me & i eventually snapped out of it after about 5 good minutes of sitting perfectly still. it was TERRIBLE. it felt like i was honestly about to die. well then today i came to work & i was sitting in my chair on the computer. i started to feel really short of breathe & a little bit dizzy, but i didnt think anything of it..then my eyes started to water really bad & i knew what was about to happen. riiight as i was about to lose it my boyfriend called my work so i told him what was about to happen. he couldnt really understand me because i started to lose my breathe & everything but then i told him i had to call my mom (she used to be an RN)but she didnt answer..anyways i started blacking out & my head started ringing i kept trying to breathe in deep..finally it went away..but it felt like i was going to have to go to the emergency room. it is a very painful scarey experience & i have NO idea whats going on..i thought the first time i almost fainted was because i had freaked myself out SO bad i almost fainted..but today i was just sitting in my chair reading? hmm..i was just wondering has anyone else experienced this?? does anyone know whats going on? im going to the doc tomorrow but when i told him about this earlier he didnt seem to know what was going on..so i dont know..THANKS

omg i just read this and this happened to me yesterday!! and it was in the shower to0!!! i felt so0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0 like sick/dizzy. like i was just takin a shower like normal and all of a sudden i got like relle light headed and dizzy then i started feelin relle sick like i was about to throw up. i was like ohh no. so0 i tried to wash out the conditioner in my hair as fast as i could so0 i could get out and sit down. and everything went black for like a second and i was like ohhhhhh no! and then i got out and sat down for like 5 mins and i felt a lil better. then i went and layed down on my bed and after like a while i felt ok. but i felt kinda sick for the rest of the day. so0o0o weird and scary! and now im worried when i start working this will happen!!!!! ughhhhh im so0 nervous now

i recently started having this happen to me too and i have no idea whats wrong. its usually when im up walking around its happened to me when i was in the mall and at target i have no idea whats wrong...im going to the doctor next week anyway so im gonna mention it then but if you find anything out about what it might be let me kno!

You need to read some of my blogs about ER trips and the Ambulance ride. I've been dealing with this but I do completely faint since I was about 25 weeks pregnant. I have had EKG's, bloodwork, my sugar tested, my bp checked, tests out the wazoooo and NOTHING has come up. I fainted and was out for a couple of minutes last Wednesday (ambulance/er trip) and I am now told that I have to see a cardiologist to wear an event monitor for 30 days to monitor my activity bc it happens when I'm sitting, standing, walking, laying down - anytime! They cannot figure out what is wrong with me. It's definately worth a shot to call your doctor and have them run your blood and what not.. you're still too early to have your glucose checked - but I have been dealing with hypoglycemia since I was 10 and have had issues with fainting in the past and I thought that's what this was but it's not... definately get checked.

I understand how scary it is and not to mention how annoying - I'm dealing with this almost daily now and with no real answer or clue as to what it is. What's even scarier is that this has happened in public while I was iwth my 5 year old daugther and no one else either.. so I'm offically on bedrest and not allowed to drive myself anywhere.

Call your doctor or go to the doctors office so they can see you on the spot. (not the ER its too expensive) It sounds alot like preeclampsia, its a serious conditution that you should really get checked for. look it up online and see if your symptoms match, from what i have read they do . I hope your ok, and let me know what the doctor says !

Let me tell you, I called the doctor about this last week. She said its normal during pregnancy to feel faint and to only come in if your heart beats per minute are over 130. I've gotten like how you described about 4 different times since I've been pregnant and I think its so scary that we freak ourselves out even more. I got so dizzy it made me throw up one time. It can get bad but the doctor said its all the extra blood flow from the baby or something like that. Good luck and just relax when it happens, I just sit down wherever I'm at and drink water and eat fruit or something. Your not alone!!!
