17-5-2008 - It's a BOY!!!

My mood while writing this blog: Ecstatic!

OMG!! It's still so surreal! Yesterday we had our ultrasound... It was an experience I'll never forget... Well Hannah has been sick all week, my poor love has been throwing up and had a fever since tuesday. Yesterday (friday) she was finally without fever, and had more energy.. So we dropped her off at school.. Then Tom and I went out to breakfast, to kill some time... well we didnt kill enough time till 12 noon. SO then we went to Wal mart to get a new digital camera (Hannah broke mine).. and it was still only like 11 am.. So then we went to Trader Joes and Tom got some wine (he sucks cause I cant drink any!!) and pizza dough...and then, his anxiety hits.. LOL- It was hillarious.. He started getting nervous and anxious and he looked like he was about to pass out. I was just plain excited, So the time came! We drove to the imaging center.. .Got signed in... and waited... Tom was breathing all over the place in different patterns... He looked like he was going to really actually pass out.. It was precious!

FINALLY they call my name. Now I drank two 20 ounce waters before the session cause they wanted to make sure I had a full bladder so I was literally about to piss myself... I laid on the bed and she first wanted to see my bladder... She was like OMG! Your bladder is about to explode... YOU win! I haven't had anyone with that full of a bladder yet!--anyways she took pics of my bladder- then let me pee.. (I swear I peed for five minutes straight..it reminded me of Austin Powers when he gets unfrozen lol) OK so then I go back.. and we see my little baby...aww.. The tears came down and we had only saw his head so far! Both of his arms were up above his head like he was stretching, then his little hands were flapping up and down (like he was making bird shadows or something) Well he was sooooo active... He kept kicking and turning. The u/s tech was awesome! She said she was a perfectionist and will not stop until we find out what we are having and she gets all her measurements. So we got to see everything.. Then we go to the legs... HIS LEGS WERE CROSSED!!! I was like oh man... we aren't going to be able to find out.. so now we have been in the u/s room for 20 minutes. The tech was trying to get a shot of the top of the babies head for measurements.. well he was so down into my pelvic bone. she asked me to go to the bathroom again (my bladder was full again) and she told me to do a "dance" or something to move the baby out of his spot...lol I did a straight hand stand in the bathrrom!! as well as jumping jacks.. it worked! I went back and she said, "oh good job! perfect!!" Tom had no idea what he was looking at...Then she scrolled by his thighs... I hollered.."His Balls!!! It's a boy!!!" The u/s tech was impressed cause she then said.. "oh yep! there they are!" Tom was FLOORED.... "What? where? how do you know" Well the tech zoomed in and did the arrow thing and showed him,, the "turtle poking out of its shell"- And that's when Tom's tears started.. He just had a huge smile on his face, and tears... It was amazing. A moment I will treasure forever... We got some pics... now this is where the tech wasn't the most awesome.. The pics kind of suck.. we have two gender shots... and a slight profile shot, and legs.. Also for such an upscale place I was also surprised that the pics werent CRYSTAL clear like I had wanted.. So maybe we may pay for the 3d kind.. We also noticed the italian nose he has on his profile... Thats all daddy! --So it was an amazing day.

Then Hannah's school called and she is running a fever and had been laying down all day :( So we picked her up- doc called with blood results.. her white counts are up. So there is an infection somewhere, then we drove to the docs and had her pee in a cup to find out if she has a uti.. She is still very sick right now so she hasn't had much of a reaction to the "baby brother" news. lol.. But we are ecstatic and even more excited than ever about being pregnant.
