| 05-11-2008 - finally a moment to breath | My mood while writing this blog:exhausted |
i have a moment now. it has been a pretty rough couple of days. so here is how it all went down.
we went to bed saturday night. it was kinda late i would say around 2AM. at about 430 AM i woke up and felt a trickle. im thinking great my water broke. so i got up and went to the bathroom. red red red. i feel clots poring out. i screamed for my husband. he got to the doorway and said lets go. i founds some pants and a shirt. im crying and just all around freaking out. i was bleeding through a pad in about 5 minutes and the clots were about the size of a kiwi. i knew something was horribley wrong. as we were walking out i called my mom and said i think we are having a baby today.
got to the hospital (that i hate) my MIL had called in advance but were they ready for me? no. however it took about 10 minutes to get to L&D. they start the normal questions, im trying to keep my cool. the doctor comes in and says well we are going to transport you (to the big hospital) she checks me i am 4 CM dialated, and in hard labor. bleeding everywhere. so she says scratch that we have to get you to the OR. in a matter of 5 minutes i am prepped for surgery. they didnt have time for a spinal block so they put me to sleep. they had him out and me stitched up in 45 minutes. he came out pink and screaming.
i got to see him for about 5-10 minutes before they transported him. i got out of the hospital yesterday. they really wanted me to stay another day but i just couldnt. i may hate that hospital but after everything was all said and done i have nothing but admiration for the doctor that delivered me. i was told that if i had been transported they would have lost me and the baby on the way. i was bleeding to death. it was a real possibility that i could have died during the operation. scary stuff, good thing i already knew the outcome before i heard that news. the doctor worked quickly and it saved both of our lives.
baby is doing wonderfully. i cannot believe what a fighter he is.
