22-12-2008 - Great News

My mood while writing this blog: stoked

So my husband's cousin called this morning. (his name is Darren and he is the doctor in arkansas) He called the surgeon who is currently on vacation. He explained the situation. The surgeon comes back from vacation on christmas day. so we arent going to get the surgery this week. HOWEVER the surgeon scheduled the OR and everything for next tuesday. he said barring complications Timothy can come home that night or the next morning. So we will have our baby home for new years. We called the NICU he is at now and gave them the information they needed. They called us back to let us know that Timothy would be transported to the arkansas hospital Friday. We will probably stay with my mother because she only lives 15 minutes from the hospital he will be at. We meet with the surgeon monday morning to discuss the procedure and all that.

I am trying not to be too optomistic and get my hopes up because i know sometimes things dont work the way we want them to. But it does look like my precious bundle of joy will be joining us at home very very soon. My husband leaves for florida for work on the 4th of january and he is a little upset about it. he will be gone for 10 days and feels like he should be here with me and the baby, but its for work and he has to do what he has to do.

He will be 8 and a half weeks old when he comes home. I wish i could say time is flying but it has been the hardest 8 weeks of my life. In the end its so worth it to know that very soon i will be hanging out here with my son on my chest.

i am editing this because i just found out how Darrin (DH's cousin) managed to get timmy in for the surgery. Darrin is an ob-gyn plus a gynocological surgeon. He himself had a surgery scheduled for that day. he bumped his surgery so that a slot would open up for timmy. if it hadnt been for him being so generous and helpful we would be waiting so much longer. what makes this man so great is that my husband doesnt really talk to this cousin. as in i had never even heard of him before this. and all my husband had to do was say hey i need some help and this man pulled so many strings simply out of the kindness in his heart. it goes to show you that there are still good people out there....i think we should buy him a present. lol.

That's incredible news! Girl if I were u I'd be optimistic don't let "possible changes" dim your happiness about this news. You're gonna have your baby at home for New Years! Positive thoughts will lead to positive outcomes!
