My mood while writing this blog: great |
We had timothy's metabolic specialist appointment on wednesday. This doctor is the leading geneticist in the state. He is a wonderfully fabulous doctor. Truly the only one i trust. He is the type no matter how late he is running he will spend as much time with you as you need explaining things and just talking. He is superb. We only get to see him every 6 months though so that sucks. He would be my first choice as pediatrician.
Anyways, he walked in and said OMG look at how big he is! he weighed 19 pounds 11 ounces. he examined timmy and said he is absolutely perfect. the most healthy baby he has seen in weeks. He checked his heart and liver (his metabolic condition can affect both) and said they are great. He told me at least 3 times he was proud of me and i should be so proud of my son. his metabolic condition is hard to manage as an infant. his assistant also mentioned something about me and how wonderful i am LOL. they had my son on enfacare to help gain weight in the beginning. i looked it up and it contains a high amount of medium chain fats which is exactly what my son CANNOT have. so i contacted her and immediately we took him off the formula. she said thank god a mother finally listened. my son was the first preemie to be born with the condition so its a little uncharted (he is enrolled in any research and studies they do of the disorder to help understand and maybe find a better way to manage it) all in all the doctor said my son is wonderful, and that there is no reason he shouldnt live to be 102 years old LOL.
I have been quite concerned because timmy is almost 11 months old and still does not crawl. however the dr assured me it is normal. timmy has shorter legs than his torso which makes it difficult to get leverage. he tested muscle function and said he is average if not above average so he is fine.
I am beyond proud of my little peanut head. he has come so far. from 2 and a half pounds who knows what will happen to this super healthy 19 pound kid. his favorite thing to do is play peek a boo, and take baths. and of course yell at me. LOL. ask me for my myspace link and i will show videos of it. we also have found out that i am not ma ma. i am ba ba. if he hurts himself he looks at me and says ba ba. or when he is tired he looks at me and says ba ba and holds out his arms. so adorable.
jeremy and i are still not together. he continues to behave the same way as he was before. although there has been a couple of days of niceness. i am simply not putting myself or my son through that stuff. timmy is an amazing child and doesnt deserve that. no child does. and really i think i am ok with it. i figure if he actually loved me and wanted a family he would do everything in his power to fix things. and he hasnt. i have enough people in my life to be there for me and timmy i do not need him. he didnt even want to know how the dr appointment went. shows how interested he is.
all in all things are great. i have my friends and my family. and that is what matters. my brother and some friends of mine have already assumed the male figure in my sons life. as in they are already planning on taking him fishing...playing ball....things like that.
