06-3-2010 - A mother's worst nightmare

Let me start with the good. My son is so funny. He loves to meow at the cat...say uh oh when he drops something on purpose...he loves trucks and to make sneezing noises. He loves to copy you and play peek a boo.

Now to my story. Wednesday night Timmy wasnt feeling well. He didnt eat as well as i like him to but he did eat enough in my eyes. We went to bed as usual. Although he actually went to bed with us instead of his crib because he acted like he was feeling crummy. He woke in the middle of the night for a drink and fell asleep again. At 8 AM...my husband was getting ready to leave for work...i woke and looked at my baby...he seemed asleep until he made a noise like he was gasping for air....i picked him up...he went limp. his eyes into the back of his head. i ran with him out to the living room and gave him his glucose rescue gel. He didnt respond. He then had a seizure and stopped breathing for a few seconds. My husband called 911. Paramedics arrived and he had 4 more seizures. When we arrived at the hospital the tested his sugar...he was at a 5. what does that mean? that means normal ranges from 80 to 125. at 40 you can have seizures....at 20 a coma. he was at a 5...he was so close to slipping away from us. they finally got an iv started to give him the sugar. we spent the night in the hospital while they got it regulated. he is home now...very tired. but he is alive. there is nothing worse than watching your baby slip away and being able to do nothing about it. He was within minutes of passing on and by the grace of god they were able to save him.

He is a miracle...from day one.

what a terrible ordeal to deal with! I'm so relieved to hear he is ok. Timmy is destined for great things I'm sure of it.

o my goodness i could only imagine how u are feeling. hope he gets better. hope u feel better too. dont get stressed out cuz he needs you so just be happy he is home and cherish everyday!
