Well just got back from our 38wk appt. Overall it went pretty good and i'm at such a relief. First off some how once again i managed to gain a whole whomping 6lbs in less than a week...so i'm at 150lbs. I got to see my regular midwife today so YAY for that. Anyways so she does my fundus measurement and gets his heartbeat which was good. I told her about my last appt with the doc and Jr was laying caddy corner so she said she would check his position to be on the safe side. Then she asked me the question i was dying to hear "do you want me to check you?" without any hesitation i said yes and i can imagine how big my eyes got! LOL Anyways so she checked me and it hurt like HELL! anyways i'm 2cm dilated but she said my cervix is still long and thick. So she told me to start taking EPO and that should do the trick. As she was checking me she said "Oh wow his head is right there!!" so thats a big relief now knowing he's in the right position and is very low!! As soon as she said that my questioning of requesting for a c-section was completely out of the window. I'm just so happy! I asked to get my membranes sweeped but she couldn't since i'm GBS positive...i know a few others that are GBS positive also and got theirs stripped so i asked her why and she said they don't want to risk accidentally breaking my water so that way baby isn't in contact with it. So I guess that makes sense so oh well. So my d/a overall went great. To top that off since i scheduled my last two d/a late i have to see some random doc because my midwife is always booked early. So i told her this was our last appt and she squeezed me in next week before her first appt so i can see her instead. She works 2morrow night in L&D so it would be nice if i don't even make it to next week! But i'm not going to get my hopes up...i'll just wait it out until my lil man is ready! I am so happy that Jr turned the right way. I know you are relieved. Hopefully you will not need your last appts.
