14-9-2009 - my new diagnosis

My mood while writing this blog: numb in the butt

today started out very bad.......let me start from a lil while ago....for about a month n a half i have had a section of my left thigh falling asleep. at first it was just a lil tingle if i laid one way. it progressed over a month to everyday and everytime i sit down or lay down no matter what direction. it was tingely and some times a lil itchy. never red neveer warm or traveling. just this one strip down the side of my leg from the bottom of my ass to mid thigh. in the past week it became increasingly tingely and sore. yesterday i woke up because the pain was pretty intense. this morning i literally screamed when i woke up my leg was hurting so bad. i felt like muscles were tearing in my leg. my poor man and dog were scared to death! jamie came running in and my big brave pitbull moxie ran n hid in the corner. jamie convinced me to call the dr....who had been trying to call me all morning to give me my NT schedule date...and when i told her the symptoms i was having she sent me to the emergency room to rule out a clot in my leg. i cried. but i got dressed n jamie drove me to the ER which was only 5 mins away. luckily i came when it wasnt busy n i was 2nd in line. when i went back to the back they sent me to a room and in 5 secs the dr came in and told me what was wrong...i have(big words)...lateral femoral cutaneous nerve syndrome and theres not too much they can do about it but medicate n to see my pmd for physical therapy...then the dr almost gave me a bunch of narcotics and muscle relaxers and steroids. i assumed she knew i was pregnant and she did not. luckily i mentioned it. so all i got was percocet and tylenol ES. tthe tylenol doesnt help worth a damn and the percocet i probably wont take unless my leg is falling off. so i get home n call my mom whoo tells me.....oh yeah i had almost the same thing when i was pregnant with you.....gee thanks ma!!! fine time to tell me now!! anyways the bad news is this may not go away untill i deliever!!! thats 6 monthes!! and the pain is progressing. but i guess i have to deal with it. the dr did say i should get more rubbin and more pillows which always make me happy
