| 20-8-2008 - 32 week appt update! | My mood while writing this blog:FABULOUS |
Well, my 32 week appt was great! I was worried about the weight gain but it wasn't so bad. I gained 4 lbs in two weeks for a total of 26 lbs to date. I wanted an u/s so bad that I had a speech and everything prepared to convince my dr to give me one.
Well, let me just say, I have the most amazing dr in the world. We talked about all the pressure I have down below, my continuous back ache and the fact that I can barely walk. He is sympathetic but tells me there is nothing much to do about it..which I know.
So, I start to tell him that I know he usually doesn't do another u/s until the 38th week but my insurance pays for it and I want one today if the tech isn't too busy. He laughed and said, "Sure, whatever you want." So, off I go down the hall to get my u/s.
Now let me remind you that my sweet girl has been big since the beginning. At 27 wks 5 days she measured 32 weeks and weighed 3.9 lbs (via u/s). So I so badly needed to know how big she had gotten. Well, she starts measuring and my girl is still a mammoth. She is measuring 35 weeks 1 day and weighs a whopping 5 lbs 12 oz!!!!! She gained 2 lbs 3 oz in a month!!!! Unbelievable...and she is breech. Her head is under my right ribs (I thought they were feet pushing up) her back goes along the left side of me and she is sitting directly on my bladder...we could actually see this in the u/s. Her legs are straight out with her feet in her face. Poor thing.
So, back to the exam room I go so the dr and I can talk about the u/s. As soon as he walks in I tell him she is a mammoth. he laughs and says all he can think about is (as he puts his arm up by his face) and makes an elephant sound. HAHAHA He said, she is a big girl. So I told him that she is breech, like he didn't know and he said she still had time to turn but not much. Since she is so big and will only be getting bigger-faster, her time is running out. Well, of course, I have to bring up the subject of c-section. I have had my share of big babies...9.9, 8, and 9.4 and they were all vaginal. I have proven my womanhood and opt for a section if she is going to be 9+ lbs. Plus, I'm getting my tubes tied again anyways. My wonderful dr said if that is what I want, that is fine...we can discuss it more after my next u/s at 36 weeks.
So that is that...I am thrilled to death that I can have a section and get my tubes tied all at the same time! I don't have to worry about the stitches down below and the pain of sitting down, using the bathroom and so scared of wiping!!! When I had my tubal reversal in 04, it was a major surgery and I have a 4-5 inch scar from it..so it was damn near the same thing as a section and the healing time and pain was so much better for me than a vaginal birth where you may rip...in my case, I did.
Ok...enough about that, just thought I would share this with you all.....thanks for reading!!!!
