09-10-2008 - Today I get to meet Miss Olivia

My mood while writing this blog: indescribable

Well, today is my day! I get to finally look into the eyes of my unborn (at the moment) and feel her soft skin. What an amazing feeling.

I got absolutely no sleep lastnight. With this being my 4th child, you would think that I would be a pro at this and it wouldn't affect me as it is. Not only is this my 4th child, but this is my last pregnancy. Wow! So it is different and means something that the others didn't.

As I lie awake last night and this morning, I tried closing my eyes to memorize every movement she made. At one point it felt as if she was maybe flicking her toes or something because the feeling was oh so suttle but amazing. With all the complaining that has accompanied this pregnancy, there has been far more times of glorious jabs, pokes, prods and rolls. A feeling that we, as women, have been blessed to be able to experience. Even though it gets so annoying with the peeing constantly, pelvic pain and pressure, sciatica, etc. pregnancy in general has been and is wonderful. Some of you have had a hard time with this being your first pregnancy and all but I promise you...you will miss all the feelings that have accomponied creating a new life.

Well, I guess I need to sign off for now so I can blow dry my hair and get my husband up. I'm unable to eat or drink anything from midnight last night till noon today so he needs to eat something while he can. I have to be at the hospital at 9:30 and my c-section is at noon. I can log on to this site via my BlackBerry and will post pics of my sweet girl..along with how big the Amazon really is since her last u/s at 35 1/2 weeks said 8.2 with 4 1/2 weeks to go.
