14-1-2009 - Updates and checking in's

My mood while writing this blog: READY!!!!!

Well, it has been a while since I have blogged and updated everyone with my sweet Olivia's accomplishments. She is such a good baby. Only cries when she's got poop and is hungry. She sleeps through the night (has been for about 2 months) and is drinking about 6-7 oz each bottle. She is not a fat baby but is chubby. She weighs about 13 lbs now...don't know for sure since she doesn't go for another check up till her 4 month shot appt. She is cooing like crazy and tries to copy the sounds and faces we make while doing so. Her smile is contagious and has started to giggle a little...more like a deep breath in with a sound...but it's kind of a giggle too if that makes sense. LOL She hasn't rolled over yet but is trying like a champ. She doesn't like being on her belly except to sleep, the rest of the time she likes to lay on her back and will kick her legs to one side and almost rolls. She is reaching for things now and is drooling like a faucet. She will sit for a good hour or two and watch tv (she really likes country music videos). She is such an angel. Her 2 big sisters and 1 big brother can't get enough of her and the older she gets the more they want to play with her...naturally. I have the most perfect family!!!

Now on to me. I will start from the beginning.

I had Olivia on October 9 and haven't stopped bleeding since. I do have 2-3 days a month where I don't bleed at all but the rest I am. This is happening while on birth control pills (the strongest there is...YAZ) and Estrogen pills which is supposed to stop it. Since being on the pills it has helped with the heaviness and is now a regular flow to spotting a good bit. Before the pills I was in the bathroom having to tend to business like every 30-45 minutes. I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy (laproscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy) next Wednesday, January 21. I was supposed to get the NovaSure procedure which is a where they burn the lining of your uterus using electricity...this is an outpatient procedure but I was not a viable candidate because I have an enlarged uterus. So....my only option is a hysterectomy at 30 years old. Which is actually wonderful to me. I am done having children and am looking very forward to not having a cycle anymore. It is a partial hysterectomy where he is only taking my uterus and cervix but leaving my ovaries. So I won't need hormone therapy and will still have a sex drive. I couldn't ask for a better outcome.
