29-5-2009 - Pregnant and SINGLE

My mood while writing this blog: deflated

So I waited 29 years only to get pregnant by my loser ex-boyfriend, who I broke up with last year due to him being immature and lacking ambition. Funny thing is I was on the pill and we used a condom. So you may be wandering how I ended up pregnant? Well, I picked my pills up from the pharmacy late due to problems with getting the script from my doctor's office. I started the pack the following Sunday, which was a week late. My doctor warned me to use a back-up method so I made sure to use a condom with my ex. How come the condom broke? I thought about going to get the morning after pill just in case but never got around to it because I was working overtime. I figured everything was fine so I kept taking my BC but when I finished the pack, my period never came. Imagine the look on my face when the home pregnancy test read (+).

So anyway, I tell my ex and he is all excited. He figures, he has some type of ownership over me now that we will be having a kid together. He has moved on and is dating other people but we had been sleeping together (with protection) because um, how do I say this... let's just say he has the "majic stick". But now I'm wishing I would have just used a vibrater. I don't want a child with him, he's not responsible enough to help raise a child and since he can't maintain steady employment, he won't be of any assistance financially either. My family keeps calling him my boyfriend, they assume we must be together since I'm pregnant but NOPE, he's just my "baby daddy". "Baby daddy...Ugh, I hate that term. Never thought I would have placed myself in this situation.

When I go to my doctor's appointments I just lie and say that the dad couldn't come because he is at work. I put a ring on my finger so that people who don't know me will see the pregnant belly and assume I'm married. My family is supportive but I wish my child's father was more involved in the pregnancy. Why did I have to get pregnant by a loser? (Sigh) Can anybody relate? I noticed that most people on here are in relationships or are married.
