17-6-2009 - Gestational Diabetes

My mood while writing this blog:
Bummed

Well 2 days ago I found out I have gestational diabetes...I was pretty bummed about this...Especially because I love to eat and I hate having to watch what I eat lol!! So today I saw a nurse and she showed me how to use this blood glucose monitor...I have to check my blood sugar levels when I wake up and 1 hour after every meal..So basically 4 times a day...Plus the Perinatal Service Center will be calling me every Wednesday to check on me...Then on Monday I have an appt with the dietician...She's going to be giving me a deit plan to follow...Im really not looking forward to this...But after talking to some of these ladies in here it might not be too bad...I was afraid I was going to starve lol!! But they're telling me they felt like they were always eating...Even the nurse told me I wont be starving...I'll be eating like 5-6 times a day (3 meals plus 2-3 snacks in between)...But I will do my best to take care of myself and my lil man...I really dont want to deliver a 10 lbs baby lol!! Ouch!!! Or dont want my baby to have any problems...I know it will be ok...

Sorry to hear about that, but i'm pretty sure everything will be ok if you watch what you eat. I hope it turns out ok for you and i hope you like your diet plan lol i know i hate watchin what i eat also.

Im sorry to hear that i hope things will get better!!! What was your score if you know? i took one of those home ones and it was 125 and my bf mom said that was high so im scared i might have it too.. we will see when i take it. well good luck with everything and im sure your baby and you will be just fine girl.. take care

awww thats too bad, good luck with your diet plan I am sure it won't be as bad as you expect. I had a 10lb baby its actually not that bad lol he was very quick hard labor and pushing was
2.5 hours, I had a normal delivery and everything.
