| 22-6-2009 - Gestational Diabetes Update-Diet plan | My mood while writing this blog:ok with this diet |
Well i got back from my appt with my dietitcian...And after going over what I need to eat and how much..Its really not that bad...Here is my plan:
Meal Choices or Grams Snack Choices or Grams
Breakfast (no milk or fruit) 2 (starches) or 30 grams of carbs Morning 2 (starches) or 30 grams of carbs
Lunch 3-4 or 45-60 grams of carbs Afternoon 2 or 30 grams of carbs
Dinner/Supper 3-4 or 45-60 grams of carbs Bedtime 1 or 15 grams of carbs
My choices are Milk/Yogurt, Fruits, Grains, Beans, Breads, and Starches...So I mean its really not that bad after all..."Free" foods are meat, poultry, fish, eggs, nuts, cheese, fats, avocado, and veggies...So I can eat as much as I want of the "free" foods..And knowing me I love to eat lol!! And if I want to snack on something can always snack on one of the "Free" foods...Plus she said I do need to start taking walks at least 30min a day...which will really help too...So I really dont have to completely avoid starches, fruit, or milk..I just need to cut back...But sweets I have to avoid according to my dietitcian :( That sucks!! Cause I love sweets!! But if I do eat sweets go for the sugar free ones and limit to serving size on the label...So lets see how this comes out..Wish me luck!!
