15-6-2009 - 11 weeks

My mood while writing this blog: relieved

I just got back from my doctor appointment. She started off by trying to find the heartbeat with the doppler but warned me that I am right on the edge and we may not hear it. She searched for about a minute and still couldn't find it so we did an ultrasound....it is amazing what 3 weeks will do! Our baby looks like a baby and not a blob with buds! She got a great picture which I posted and you can clearly see the baby's profile! We saw him/her move, wiggle and stretch! Really, just amazing! According to my dates I am 11 weeks 1 day but the baby was measuring 11 weeks 4 days! Everything looks fine so I will not be going back for another long 5 weeks. (BOO!) At that point we will start the progesterone shots to prevent premature labor (my son, Miles was born at almost 35 weeks and spent a week in the NICU).

The doctor did warn that I may experience some spotting after the ultrasound (it was an internal) and I am dreading that, even though I've been warned! It has been 12 days spot free so I am hoping that is all behind us!
