17-8-2009 - 20 weeks!

My mood while writing this blog: Thrilled!

20 weeks! Half way already! I am feeling this little one move all over the place (started feeling flutters around 16 weeks and now there are much more forceful kicks...we actually felt them from the outside for the first time last night!) and loving my big old belly! Having experienced the m/c right before we concieved this pregnancy, I think I have been even more ecstatic (and blessed and thankful) at each milestone...I have been getting progesterone shots (to prevent premature labor) every week since 16 weeks and will continue to until at least 32 or 33 weeks. They're not so bad and I am lucky that our insurance covers a nurse to come to the house or my work to give me the shots....saves me a trip to the doctor on a weekly basis! I have been feeling really well otherwise and havn't gained any weight yet (although I say that knowing I am still carrying around 12 pounds I didn't have pre-pregnancy with my son)!

We had our big ultrasound today and it was wonderful to see that little one stretching and moving all around! Everything looks healthy and measures between 19 weeks 3 days and 20 weeks 4 days (I am technically 20 weeks 1 day today). The baby is 12 ounces...a big baby already! Lastly, although my husband and I had decided to not find out the gender again (we didn't with our son), I had been really wanting to know the past few days. So when the tech asked if we wanted to look for the gender, I looked at my husband and he said, "okay!".....So with that....I am so excited to announce that my son, Miles will have a baby sister sometime in late December or early January! We are surprised....really thought it would be another boy for some reason but we're very happy!

I am so glad to hear you are having a girl!! Now you have one of each. Congratulations!! So happy to hear all of your baby news. I am also having a girl and there is nothing like having another you running around. Both of my girls are spitting images of me and they love to do everything I do. Congrats on the little girl.. the best part is the clothes... I have my 3rd on the way! Kind of scares me though... 3 teenage girls...oh boy! I'll have my hands full!

Congrats on your little girl!!! My ultrasound technician told me that my girl was 11 ounces (I was on 19 weeks and 2days). I thought she is too small. Cuz the book I read said that the baby should be about a pound by 20 weeks. Maybe that book was wrong???
