20-6-2008 - Itchy Legs and a Trip to the Labour ward!

Well this week was an interesting one, highlighted by Tuesday when I spoke to my midwife about experiencing itchy shins and she suggested I immediately come down to the hospital for bloods and monitoring!

Spent the better part of an hour with a monitor on (which would have been a nicer experience if I hadn't been so worried ,as I could hear Jess's heartbeat and see my braxton hicks on the printout!) and the blood tests came back ok, although some of them will take a week to come back, but there is no immediate concern and I have to go back for a check up next week and get the bloods done again for comparison. It's something to do with the babies liver - normal signs are itchy hands and feet, but there's no reason it couldn't be shins instead - we're not all the same!

Aside from that I'm feeling like I could explode at any time, and yet I can't seem to stop eating!! I'm trying to keep it healthy (she says eating malteasers!) but I'm still quite neat so Jess must be taking the calories from me as I'm also really tired!

Ya know I'm so glad I found your blog, I'm 33 weeks and 5 days, and I've been extremely itchy this past week. I mean all over including my feet and hands, and it's driving me nuts. I did call the doctor but they didn't seem too concerned. They did mention something about liver tests or something but really didn't tell me to go in. Now I'm wondering if I should?? I'm glad your fine, and hope it stays that way, but please what do you think I should do?? Anyway Good luck hun..
