Write a new blog
It may seem funny to write this as a blog already but I would recommend you and you partner discussing before baby is born how you want to discipline your child. If both of you are in agreement then it make life so much easier for the family. The baby/child does not get mixed and confused messages from each parent, one allowing one thing and then getting a telling off from the other parent for the same thing. You need to have the same approach and work together. You need to discuss what consequences for your child's actions. Do you want to use time out, a smack on the bottom etc. Obviously I am talking about this a little way down the track, your new born does not need discipline as soon as it is born but it's worth discussing it before you need it, it's amazing how quickly you need to start teaching your little one " no, don't touch it's hot" What will your approach be to stop a child touching something hot? Worth thinking about.
I am not about to tell you our approach or how to do it unless anyone is interested and asks but just wanted to get you thinking about it.
