Write a new blog
One of the hard things with your first baby is that you feel like everyone is watching what you are doing and yet you are still trying to figure out if what you are doing is right.
People will give advise left right and center, sometimes it's helpful and other times it's confusing. My rule of thumb is that I do not offer advise unless asked.
Every baby will develop at it's own pace. Some will walk early while others talk early. Don't get into the comparison game. Your baby will meet those mile stones when it is ready and with a bit of encouragement from Mum and Dad.
Often with first babies, we feel it is our fault if baby is not talking as early as little John next door, maybe we should have read more to them etc. Don't be in a rush to make baby Einsteins, by all means read and teach your little ones but if he is not understanding the laws of physics by age 2, does that really matter?
My kids have really varied in reaching common mile stones. My eldest daughter could talk before she was 1 year old in full sentences. She sang happy birthday to herself at her first birthday. None of my others have talked that early but some of the others have been more physically active. They all have different strengths.
Enjoy your kids and encourage them in all areas, as long as they are developing then be happy, even if it is a little slower from some. They will eventually get there. RELAX!!!

I have JUST realised this. 10 months pp. I used to worry so much, not at the way I mothered my daughter but I worried about what people thought of my parenting. Its a horrible feeling especially when you feel other mothers are in competition or something. Ive had an epiphany somewhat! Im so much more relaxed ...and see these Mile Stone forums?? forget about them.
