29-6-2008 - The things no one tells you no.30 What about the breasts? Will they be the same? OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

After my last post I was asked about the breasts after birth or after stopping feeding. I usually try to talk about things as positively as I can but I'm afraid that for most of us the breasts will not ever be as pert and full as they used to be. They are beautiful while pregnant and feeding but it's a bit of a sad story after.

Everyone is different so for some people they will have not too much of a change but for most woman that I talk to, sagging can be an issue.

I have heard some say that they remained larger busted after feeding baby and for others (myself included) they become smaller than ever. I have always been small breasted so I love being pregnant and feeding. It makes me feel much more womanly but I know I will have to say goodbye when I stop feeding. I don't have a droopage problem as there is nothing to droop. (I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not.) I feel like the wings out my back are bigger than the chest in front. Oh well, there could be much worse issues in life and I am greatful to be able to feed my babies. At least when you are small busted there are padded bras and silicon inserts that you can use if you really want to. It is probably harder for the ones who remain larger busted and by this I mean larger than they are comfortable with. A good bra with some lift will be on the agenda as the natural pertness will probably not be there anymore.

Obviously, the more babies you have and the longer you feed will all impact on the breast changes. You may not notice too much of a change after the first baby but I am sure you will notice some difference.

Keep smiling though, It's not the end of the world.

I was small all my life (like barely an A cup) and I was hoping after my milk came in with my son that my beautiful breast would stay (D cup) Well, ha ha ha was I wrong- not only did they leave stretch marks from the sudden increase in size, but they looked horrible after deflating. My once atleast pretty, perky, yet small chest looked worse. I begged my hubby for implants b/c they looked that bad- of course he didnt see the problem- but as a women it is a big part of our femininity. I am now pregnant with our 2nd and went from the D cup I purchased to a DD- if these things get any bigger when I have her in November I will topple over. Big or small I do not think they are ever the same after a baby- wether you breastfeed or not.

I was a b cup b4 my daughter, now im a c in one boob and a d in the other :( and my 'big' boob is saggy and my 'little' boob is nice and perky still. Not that's depressing and im only 19 haha, I think after im finished having kids ill get a nice expensive boob job haha.

i am normally an A cup, but while breast feeding they went to an F!!!! now i have stopped they have gone straight back down to an A cup again....how depressing!!

wow, i have heard so many stories about your boobs getting smaller than you previously had them before having babies. I was very comfortable being a cup A, but now that i had babies and been nursing for over 6 years (total of 4 babies) and im still nursing my 17mont old baby, i dont want to say good bye to my big DD cup, I love the way they look and so does my husband, they are a little sagging after baby has a snack, I am still making milk so they get full and round after a couple of hours, and if i dontt nurse my daughter after 4 hours they get really big, i mean big but they look beautiful, im gonna miss them if they do get back to normal size or even smaller than a cup A.......

for the first time in my life I am going to say that I am lucky to have very small breast. I am only an A so even after breats feeding that didn't change. I wish they would get a little bigger tho.

It is a sad sight, I must say... They are completely different then before giving birth. The roundness is gone, they're like a ski slope now; very strange. The firmness is replaced by a squishy, too-soft feel. I'm glad I wasn't big to begin with otherwise they'd be down to my knees!!

I have always been big chested, i barely remember wearing a b or c cup. now that i've gotten preg, i'm already a DD and my boobs have always been kinda saggy. My posture and embarrasment is to thank for that. but I plan on haveing one more baby after this, then i'm going to have a reduction and a lift :)

luckywhite - Monday, 7 Jul
my boobs remained the same 'size after feeding m y first baby for six months.. the difference was they just were empty sacks of skin.. no firmness rto the dd cup just flesh.. now im preg again they are a they were when i was 19 full and firm and round.. how i will miss them when i finish feeding this baby around july 2009!!! i'll need to start saving for some fakers!! xx

Oh the breast issue!! I breastfed my daughter for 10 months and loved the size and look of them the whole time, (so did my hubby of course). Afterward was another story... Pre-pregnancy I was a B cup, and after breastfeeding I was a C cup. Sounds great I know, but I was only a C cup because of the extra sagging skin I had! I had to buy C cup bras so I could stuff in the extra flaps of skin. Oh my. Undressed I look like some weird amazon woman you would see on the discovery channel. It's very sad. I think breastfeeding is the best thing you can do, but you also have to live with the aftermath! I plan to breastfeed again with this baby, but I also plan to get a boob job for my 30th birthday !!(after I'm done with babies!) It'll be great. :) hehe

Im right there with you, I breast fed my 1st daughter, and everything stayed fine, but then I got pregnant again and lost the baby. For some reason after our loss I started to get milk (like my body thought I gave birth) and unfortunatlly I got masstitis really bad in my left breast, The infection had gotten so bad an absess that the Dr didn't know was there, had formed causing my one breast to tripple in size (left infected breast was a size D and the right side a very small B) and be very painful to the touch, When my husband saw me on the floor in pain crying he knew my medication was not working and rushed me to the emergency room. Right away the Dr in the ER new it was an absess and because of where it was located rushed me straight to emergency surgery. But not before telling me that since the absess had streched out my breast soooo much that I might want to look into plastic surgery because my breast would be st difformed!!! Saddly he was right, I have a scar and it literally looks like a old ladys breast, and somehow 2 sizes smaller then my normal breast. Im very self concious about it and I never let my husband look at them anymore, except when im pregnant they both get very full and beautiful (and match!) so I feel everyones pain, our breast make us feel beautiful and want our partners to be attracted to us the same way they did when they met us.

I am going to breastfeed and will be returning to work after 3 months. Are there any pumps you recommend?
