My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
I HAVE HAD SOME NURSING ISSUES WITH EDEN, SHE HAS GIVEN ME CRACKED NIPPLES AND I HAVE SUFFERED MASTITIS THIS TIME AROUND. I HAVE USED NIPPLE SHIELDS, BUT THEY HAVE CAUSED HER NOT TO MILK THE BREAST PROPERLY, AND I HAVE BEEN CONTINUALLY NURSING HER DAY AND NIGHT, MAKING ME EVEN WEAKER AND RUN DOWN, THAT I NOW HAVE A MOUTH FULL OF ULCERS, NOT TO MENTION, MY HUNCH THAT SHE WASN'T GETTING ENOUGH MILK HAS TURNED OUT TO BE CORRECT, AS IN 18 DAYS, SHE HAS ONLY GAINED 180 GMS!
MY MIDWIFE SUGGESTED MULTI-VITAMINS FOR MYSELF AND MAYBE INTRODUCING FORMULA FOR A COUPLE OF NIGHTS, FOR HER VERY LAST FEED, JUST SO I CAN GET SOME REST, I MAY TAKE THAT ADVICE.

Monday, 16 Jun Ouch! That sounds horrible. When I first started nursing Presley my nipples had cracks. Then I started applying lanolin to them. Have you tried that? It really works.
I will be praying that things get better with the feedings.
Love you! miracle-baby -
Monday, 16 Jun So sorry you are having such a time of it. The first month is the hardest. Hopefully, once you start feeling better things will be better. You need to take care of yourself!! I am thinking about you and your beautiful little girl. Hang in there it will get better! :) EmB17 -
Monday, 16 Jun I had to do the same with Jacob, my yongest. I have to admit that I felt better in the long run. I felt guilty for not being able to give Jacob enough of my own milk but as soon as I got my strength back I was able to feed him fully again. :-)
Take care Em x nancy26 -
Monday, 16 Jun oh my sweetheart - I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time of it! You've got to do what you think is right - it's no good that you're not getting any rest, or that Eden is struggling to feed and stressing you out... :(
Really feel for you honey - hope your man is helping out around with the other kids, and the other kids are helping with the babies? I really hope you get some decent rest... Thinking of you and love you Nic.
Back to the doctor tomorrow at 39 and 4, and will let you know how it goes!
Any advice for a woman who's going to TRY natural birth? LOL
