03-11-2008 - Fetal Movement

My mood while writing this blog:
Concerned

Ok, So I've been sick with an nasty cold for about a week and a 1/2. I called my doc on Thursday and the nurse said I can take Robitussin DM and Sudafed. I left work early and went to CVS and picked some up. I've taken the Robitussin 3 times and the Sudafed only twice. I called out Friday as well b/c I was still feeling lousy. Since I started taking the meds, I've notice my little boy moving less???????? I'm confused, his movements had been getting stronger and more frequent as the days have passed, and now it's almost to nothing, maybe once or twice a day if I'm lucky. And it's only since I started taking the medication, is it just coincidential? Can someone just hit me on the head and tell me everything is OK! Ike!!!! Good thing I have the fetal doppler, his heartrate is strong and between 156-164 every time, so I have some relief there. I'm just paranoid I think b/c of what happened to my girls, which is this weeks gestation that I had them, 21w 3days, and i'm 21wk 2days today. UGH I can't wait til this is over, me and pregnancy I don't think go well together. Thanks for letting me vent, I needed it!!!

I wouldn't worry too much.. Your Dr. said it was okay....... Take it easy. Get lots of rest. Hope U feel better real soon.

It may be a little bit of the medicine... I wouldn't worry too much about it.. as long as your still getting a good strong heartbeat.. I would say you can relax. I have had the same thing happen to me.. there are days my baby doesn't want to move very much.. I think you are okay... and I think and believe you are going to be okay... Vent as much as you need.. that's what we are all here for. : )

i've noticed my baby moving less frequently too and also have a cold. I'm a true believer in going with your instincts. If you think the medicine is making the baby move less than I would stop taking it and wait the cold out. I have yet to take anything I just increased my fluids. Hope you feel better soon :)
