My mood while writing this blog: Hurting

After a very hectic Christmas Eve and Day, I went back to work today with anticipation of a short work week. On my way home, for some reason, there was a lot of traffic, and the highway was stopped. Well, the person behind me kept going, slammed into me (I saw him coming and could do nothing about it!), and that made me hit the lady in front of me, which made her hit the truck in front of her. So 4 vehicles involved all together. I immediately started to freak out and cry uncontrolably and I was shaking. I tried so hard not to hit the steering wheel with my belly, but not like I can hide it, I hit it pretty good. Thank goodness, the airbag, for some unknown reason, didn't deploy. I stayed in my car until the ambulance got there. I didn't even see the damage on the front or the back of my car. I called my husband at work, (crying and yelling at the idiot who answered the phone) and he drove over 20 miles to sit with me until the ambulance took me away. The EMT lady tried to get an IV into me because I was having cramping, and then I started to get pains all over my abdomen. Lets just say she was very unsuccessful. Blood dripping down my arm, it's like she didn't know what the heck she was doing. But she was real nice, so I didn't complain. I got to the hospital, and they check his heartbeat which was 160. So a big sigh of relief there. About an hour later I finally had clearance to go up to labor and delivery, and they tied 2 monitors on me, for his heartrate and a contraction monitor. I was having no contractions, and he had the hicups! They doctor came in and did an ultrasound to check my placenta. It's on the back wall of my uterus, which is the pefect place to be in the event of an accident, we don't need that to start to separate! And the baby had plenty of fluid, he's in the head down position, knees bent, quickly running out of room. Baby Michael got a clean bill of health!!!!! Thank you god....that's all I've got to say.

I'm hurting today, tho. My back is very sore, as well as my stomach. I'm getting pains on the lower part of my belly, and they said that was to be expected. I have Sciatica starting on my right side, going to my right leg...lovely. A whopper of a headache, because I did get hit from both ends, my neck keeps cracking. ::sigh:: Whatever, my baby is doing OK, so that's all that really matters to me at the moment. The lady from the insurance company of the guy who hit me was completely rude! She won't let me get a rental car, so I have no clue how I'm supposed to get to my doctor's appt on Friday, or work which is 35 miles away. I'm out for the rest of the week with a doctor's note, but could she be any more ignorant? She wants to come by my house next week to do a personal assessment of my injuries, never heard of that before, and she wants me to take a taxi to wherever I need to go. yeah OK...no!!!!! #1 the cab drivers around here are dirty and dingy and are totally not trustworthy #2 her client hit me, why am I being inconvenienced? So now I have another headache that Tylenol just isn't touching. 2008 is definitely going out with a bang :o(
