| 02-2-2009 - Baby Shower! 02/01/09 | My mood while writing this blog:Overwhelmed |
So my "surprise" baby shower was yesterday. What a great time! And great cake!!!!! lol I knew about the shower for a little over a week, so it was no big surprise. I told my mom that I wanted to get there a little early, because I've been so emotional lately (like 1st trimester all over again!!!) that I don't think I could handle a big "surprise!" and be OK. Just thinking about it had me in tears. (Of happiness of course) So she said OK, I could come early, but I could not help decorate. I agreed, and wouldn'tcha know, hubby takes the loooooooong way to the function hall. OMG I was pissed! And to top it off, Sunday morning country roads=old people. We got stuck behind this couple in a big-ass Grand Marquis, and of course were going 2 MPH and kept breaking at every driveway, every hole in the road, I mean, come on now! We were laughing the whole way there.
So we finally get there, late, go figure, and there's everyone at the door with cameras and "surprise!!!!!!" . Here come the waterworks lol like a friggin baby :::Sigh::: My aunt flew up from Florida, so that was a real surprise, and I cried when she came up to me, but otherwise, it was really nice with about 60-70 women lol Hubby was clearly out numbered HA HA But he had a good time as well. We had a brunch-type buffet, I went around to everyone at every table, then I started the gifts...and for 2 and a half-3hours, sat there and opened gifts. Now this kinda got me upset...people were just getting up and leaving, some didn't even say goodbye. Others were complaining I was going too slow. I was doing the best I could without ignoring the gift that was in hand, trying to get to the gifts of the people who were leaving. My head was spinning!!! I didn't eat again until I got home. So it was a very tiring day, but a successful one. All of our "big gifts" on the registry we got. Plus cash and some gift certificates, so we can get some items we didn't end up receiving. So 9 hours of going through everything when we got home lol and I did 3 loads of baby laundry, plus I have at least another 4-5 more to do. A lot of clothes! He'll never be running around naked I can tell you that much LOL Now for the thank you cards....... :o)
OOOOO I can't believe I forgot to mention...my sister hand made me a diaper cake. I was in awe. It looked store bought. As soon as I can get some pics, I'll post them. She did a wonderful job. I'm honestly shocked and her creative abilities lol
