My mood while writing this blog: Playing both sides of the fence |
It is official........I'm laid off as of 3:45pm today. Now I don't know whether to be totally ticked off or jumping for joy. The positives...1) I'm home all summer with Michael (woohoo!)
2) I can no longer be harassed by morons for being a female at a male-dominant industry...being co-workers or customers.
3) I can collect unemployment
The negatives...1) I'm in financial dire straits. I got summons to court yesterday for outstanding medical bills. I haven't had the money to pay anything b/c my maternity leave was unpaid, so we paid the bills that were most important.
2) I'm still trying to think of another reason why it's so bad lol
So yeah, I'm stressing out a little because of the whole court thing. I've never been to court before. And now that I got laid off, I wonder if they'll just write it off? I've had a rough end to my week. I'm gonna go try and relax with Michael. He's been miserable the past few days with his belly. He misses his Mommy :o) His christening is tomorrow, so I'll have an enjoyable weekend. You girls take care!!!!

Friday, 26 Jun Hey There,
It's been a while since I've been able to get on here. Sorry to hear about the lay off. But, it does have its blessing. You will be with that beautiful baby all summer. Enjoy every moment. As for court etc., you do the best you can and that's all you can do. Try not to stress too much. I missed getting the lay off notice here. But my office lost 13 people. Their last day is next Tuesday. Looking at 27 furlough days though, so I'm trying to look at that as time with Renata. Hope you and Michael are doing okay. I'm pulling for everything to work out for you. DulcianasMom -
Thursday, 18 Jun I'm in the same situation! I've been off since February and I dont know where you live but i live in Michigan and there are NO freakin jobs out there:( It sucks! I have seriously considered going back to school so that i can try to get a decent paying job as a Medical Assistant cause the healthcare field seems to be the only one that is hiring! Good luck and thank god for unemployment! Becs -
Sunday, 14 Jun It's a toughy! You must be thrilled that you can spend more time with the little'un but yeah, the financial side must be a worry. Hopefully all goes well at court. Perhaps they will be sympathetic :) Hope you've had a lovely weekend + Michaels Christening went well. x erin b -
Saturday, 13 Jun Just know that everything will all work out. You find a way to make things work. My fiance has been laid off since November and is now out of unemployment (we are waiting for an extension) so we have only my income for a 5 person family. It's hard and you make sacrifices but you will make it work...have faith! Good luck! sunnymom -

Friday, 12 Jun OMG! On one hand I am happy for you, after all, you get to stay home with Michael as you wanted! But financially it'll be definitely difficult.
I think you'll find a way to make it happen now that the circumstances are given and you do not have to choose anymore.
I wish you the best of luck at court, and let us know how it goes! mizzkeisha -
Friday, 12 Jun Well, I'm glad that you will get to spend the summer with the kids. I hope all goes well at court for you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers!
