17-9-2009 - Michael's 6 Month Check-Up

Hi Girls!!!

Well today Michael had his 6 month appointment. He's 18 pounds and 28" long. He also had 3 shots :o( But he took it like a champ, cried for about 2 minutes and was smiling before I walked out. So all is good. I made an appointment with a pediatric eye specialist for his right eye. He's had a blocked tear duct since he was 2 weeks old. Sometimes they clear up on their own, sometimes they don't. Michael's eye gets goopy, it drains, and when he wakes up from sleeping, almost every time, it's "glued" shut. He immediately turns his head and covers his eye when he sees me with a washcloth. Him as well as I have had enough with the eye issues. Apparently babies need to be at least 9 months old before they would surgically unclog the duct, so his pediatrician says. But I need to get the consult in, so when he is 9 months, I can nip this issue in the bud.

And on a positive note for me, I started my period tonight!!! Yes this is a good thing, I haven't had one since I had Michael on Feb 28th, so I'm excited. We're trying for baby #2! Hope all of you girls are doing well. It's after 1am right now and I'm beat, long day. Talk to you all soon!!! :o)
