24-7-2008 - He's finally here!!!!!

Elijah Michael Luke Vincent

Well my little man has finally been evicted!! 13 days over due!! I finally went into labour naturally at 3am on the day of my booked induction!! Contractions were every 5 minutes and berable, i woke matt up at 3.30am and he rang the hospital and my parents who turned up at 4am.

We arrived at the hospital at 4.20am and contractions every 4 mins, matt toke the opitunity to have a quick nap! i paced the labour room until they were every 3 minutes, i started to had a problem with my muscle in my top right arm? it cramped up and i couldn't lean on the bed for support! the head midwife insisted on me having a drip needle put in my left hand as ive had a C-section before? i told them i didnt want it and didnt have it with my secound delivery, but they did it anyway!! so i had no use of my arms whats so ever!

By 7.30 matt woke up and went for a wonder to the canteen, i made the midwife take out the needle as it was driving me mad!! the midwives swopped shifts and Michaela toke over! after she had measured me and being 10cms and her advising me not to have my waters broken as they still hadnt gone i got of the bed and pop they exploded all over the floor!! there was loads of it!!

By 8.30am i was ready to push and no sign of matt!! so i sat on the birthing bed and the erges stopped, he was finally traced and had to scoff his full english to get back!! i stood again getting the erges back and used matt to lean against for support so i could bear down and 25mins of initial pushing, i could feel the top of his head!! it was soft and hairy!! i held his head (which was a horrible burning pain and 3 contractions to get him there!!) as he crowned and Michaela said hello to him as he was facing her!! It was the most strangest moment of my life and after 3 more contractions at 9.14am he was born onto a pillow on the floor!! she showed us his bits through my legs and we both smiled at his willy!! matt cut his cord and then helped me onto the bed. i had 6 stitches over the scar from before. and made the most of the gas & air!!

He weighed 9lb 2 & a half oz, and is the spit of his sisters when they were born!! hes slightly longer measuring 54cm long!! he is the most beautiful baby (gonna say that arent i really!!) im so proud of him and pleased i did it naturally and with no aid of drugs!!
