My mood while writing this blog: tired but happy |
31 weeks and 5 days, and my second day home with a cold, my third one for this month alone... we're doing well! lol. I'm taking a mixture of lemon juice and honey to help with the cough, but it still really really hurts to cough. I'm actually undecided as to whether to go in to work tomorrow, as I can take one more day without having to go to the Doctor and spend a fortune so I can tell him what's wrong with me and get a note!
Baby boy is so amazing. we went to see him at his scan on Tuesday, playing happily with his toes, and even got to see him practice-breathing. I cried. lol Emotional wreck, really. He is weighing in at an above-average 5 pounds so far, which prompted them to send me for GD testing, despite my protests and theatrical pointing at my dear, angel husband who is HUGE... I also asked them to double check.. and it's official, he is most DEFINITELY a boy. lol and the best news of all?? My low placenta HAS MOVED!!! I'm able to have a vaginal birth!! WOOOT!
So I don't have GD *phew*, but I DO have a mild case of glucose intolerance, so I'm on this funky cardboard diet for a week, after which they're going to retest me. All it means is that my insulin takes about an extra hour to catch up to the rate of food breaking down, which is releasing a little too much sugar into my system. It's not too bad, and can be rectified by diet, unfortunately all it means is that I get to eat NONE of the fun stuff... as a means of mourning, I had a peanut butter sandwich (my absolute favourite throughout this pregnancy) for the last time, and threw the rest out :( I've actually had to go through the cupboards today and throw out anything I may find tempting... I'm one of THOSE personalities. Tell me I can't have it, and I want it all the more lol.
Our precious son's changing unit and dresser arrived this week, so I'll be playing DIY junkie on the weekend again. J hates it, but I so love putting these things together, it gives me a great sense of accomplishment to set things up for him, and know that he's sleeping in the cot I built him, and will be changed on the dresser I built :)
Much love and light to all. Not long to go now! XXX

Tuesday, 29 Apr Hi! Just to let u know i havnt been ignoring u. Our electricity hasnt been fixed yet and i feel like taking a spade and dig up the cables myself but roy says they too deep! Anyways i'm using his cell to come online and its not as nice as mine so it doesnt display a whole page and i dont get the option to leave a comment on yr page, also when i click on send reply next to yr msg on my page it says malformed url. What ever that means, lol! I dont know if i'm having a boy, it just feels like it and the gender prediction chart also says its a boy. I dont think i would b going 4 a scan as they r rather costly. I think everything is ok with the baby, he kicks many times a day. But i am becoming really tired easily. Oh i almost forgot, i got some cough meds for my daughter and the chemist said its ok for me to use too, its benilyn's original cough mixture. Dont know if u can get it over there by u? It really works. my7thbabyduemay20th2008 -
Wednesday, 23 Apr Hi hun!
I am sorry you have been sick, not much fun when you are preggers, don't go back to work before you are right, as you will just exhaust yourself if you do.
It is so cool to see an u/s of baby when they are bigger in the womb, you can see so much more detail, don't you think?
I love the 'theatrical pointing' you made at your hubby, but five pounds is quite a good size weight at that gestation, are you sure of your dates?
So that diet you are on, sounds like it sucks! Do you normally have glucose intolerance, or is it only in pregnancy that this has developed?
I too will be putting in a new change table next week, I pick it up from a dept store on Monday, it is a dark wooden sleigh one, and I got a really funky changing mat, next thing is to get a really good mobile, and a couple more blankets, and then I am set.
I have had contractions in the evening, and crampy during the day, my cervix is ripening and effacing, I am around 2-3 cms dilated, I really hope that I don't go overdue this time, but I have a feeling I will either have her a few days early or right on time, fingers crossed for me.
I will post a pic up soon of my 36 week tummy, and I suppose I better put up my 36 week pregnancy blog, or I will be 37 week before I know it, lol!
Take care sweetheart, always lovely to hear from you, you are definitely catching up to me, 31+weeks! where has the time gone!
