30-5-2008 - 37 Weeks! TERM!

My mood while writing this blog: WOOHOO!

WOW! Officially TERM, baby! No pun, intended. I am absolutely thrilled! My little guy has been off the charts on his "kick chart" which they give you in the hospital here to keep track of movement from about 34 weeks... I've only been doing it the last 2 days because I didn't have time while I was working... but I'm getting 10 movements in about 5 or 6 hours, and as long as you have 10 movements within 12 hours, you're ok. I wonder if hiccoughs count though? He's been getting a lot of those!

The oedema is getting worse... my feet are perpetually like little balloons with these fat knobs which vaguely resemble toes. Typing for more than 20 minutes sees my fingers transform into frankfurters lol.

So I bit the bullet and bought myself 2 postnatal girdles to help with oedema and regaining shape... not cheap, but at this point I'll try anything! It's based on an old practice of binding women after birth to encourage healing and elasticity in the skin... wheeeee. The Mummy lives.... again, no actual pun intended :)

Anyway the main reason I'm writing this blog is to let ya'll know that I'm eloping with my husband (very slowly... more like waddling) to the North today for 4 days to get some R&R and do some fishing.... keep fingers crossed for me that baby boy stays, and I'll catch up with all of you when I get back :)

Love you guys, and Nic, I hope your absence is because little Eden is here at last... :) post some pics will ya? I'm sure she's gorgeous, just like her mum

ho its heather , sorry for my meltdown.. im back im pregnant and im going to make the most of it, scotts reaction was fear and knee jerk.. things have been scary for a =few days with a suspected ectopic but baby not in tube so things are looking good with hormoane levels..

its nearly time for you nancy!!!!!!

hi nancy! i am finally back online! wow u only have 3 weeks left to go! u must be excited...god i am so jealous! i already feel like ive been pregnant forever and im only halfway there. sigh! oh, those girdle things really work wonders. the women here in japan have been using them for a super long time. im totally going to use them this time around too. i cant wait to have the baby and get back into shape. anyway hope to hear from u when u get back.
