15-6-2008 - 39 weeks 2 days

My mood while writing this blog: A bit twitchy...

A mere 5 days to go to my due date... and I'm getting twitchy - for all my fears of having this baby early, he is showing NO signs of wanting to join us... occasional pains, but I certainly wouldn't say contractions! I might just go batty if we end up going overdue! The doctor measured him last week, and he's at least stopped growing like a weed, and is a respectable (about) 7 pounds at the moment... The doc reckons not more than 8 pounds to deliver, which is a huge HUGE relief... shouldn't need a c-section and don't need to be induced early! So of course, now they're pretty much leaving him to come when he wants, and he just doesn't seem to want to come.

I just can't believe that in a week or less (fingers crossed, not more!) we will be parents to a beautiful baby boy... It's crazy, and somehow STILL doesn't seem real, even as I sit here tickling his sweet little foot through my belly... I can't wait to meet that foot, I know it so well... and so does my stomach, my diaphragm, my ribs... LOL.

I'm perpetually exhausted and have very little energy, my eating has deteriorated to whatever I can throw in the microwave... or toast... or anything instant, and my sweettooth has kicked in with a vengeance. It's pretty hard to keep under control, when all I want is sugar (body's response to lack of energy?). I'm sleeping an awful lot, but I cannot sleep past about 5:30am in the morning now... and start cat-napping from 1:45am, checking the clock every hour on the hour from then. I've been up since 5:05 this morning and am now ready for bed again - I'm really trying not to sleep during the day to try and get a full night's sleep in, but it's not working!

Jay is so wonderful and will be taking a week off work (a week he can ill afford with the stresses of his job) to be with me and help with the baby when we get back from the hospital. He really is so wonderful, even though I feel more and more like I want to stick my foot up his butt :P lol It must be end-of-pregnancy moodswings... anyway, all this made me realise how badly I need to CHILL OUT, and just let go. I'm such a control freak, and am often so convinced in my own mind that no one can do anything my way, or right, so I do it all myself, and I think this has been a big downfall in this pregnancy - the reason why I've been pushing myself so hard and doing everything myself. Jay wants to help, and I'm so scared this control freak is just going to take over and criticise or butt in on nappy changes, or baths, or dressing... and it's so important to make him feel like he's doing great, to build his confidence with the baby, rather than criticise or step in... Very delicate situation, but I'm glad I've recognised this fact now and I'll have to reread this blog over and over and over, and just be VERY aware and be prepared to slap myself on the wrist rather than him..

Just a MEMO TO ME kind of thing... now pleeeeeeeaaaase baby.... can you come already?? lol XX

not long now hun. The actual delivery and hospital recoup time is always the best part to me lol. Everyone pampers u and they give u great pain killers so u can actually relax an enjoy this magical time with ur man. I had an 8.4lb chubby cherub boy but all the docs said 7lbs go figure. take care

I feel for you the last few days or weeks if you go over( went over ten days with my first) are truly agonising,just waiting for him to come, do try and rest as much as you can if your body is craving sleep it needs it.
Believe me your wait will be worth it in the end and He cant stay there forever, You'll soon be holding your beautiful baby boy and you'll forget all about the torture of waiting for him to appear.

UUUU THOSE LAST FEW DAYS BEFORE BABY CAN BE VERY HARD HONEY, I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO PREGNANT FOREVER, AND WITH ALL THOSE CONTRACTIONS, I LIKE YOU THOUGHT SHE WAS GOING TO MAKE HER APPEARANCE EARLY, BUT IT WAS NOT TO BE. IT IS REALLY HARD TO WAIT FOR THEM, BUT IT IS SO WORTH THE WAIT!

The best thing you can do right now is relax, take short walks when you can and before you know it, baby will be here and it will be the most beautiful experience you will ever have. You will realize that the wait was soooooo much worth it, it is just amazing! Good luck to you and hubby. God bless you both and baby too!

Well 1st of all, Congradulations, and second, I'm sure the wait will be worth it in the long run, even know it doesn't seem like it now. How excited you must be, as I would be, although I'm only 33 weeks now. And I completely understand, being in control is an issue, I also am worried that I may get on Ryan's case with things, but know that I can't do that. So I think I'll be doing what your doing and reminding myself that it's not always about how I want it done, it's alright to do it alittle different from time to time. lol It's definatly hard though. Well I hope your baby boy comes very soon for you. Take care and good luck.

The worst words when u waiting for baby at the end? Baby will come when he's ready. Lol. I'm also too impatient for that. Tried speeding things up with each and every baby. But even after that last baby came 4 days over! Good luck and let me know when he decides to come *hugz*
