24-6-2008 - 40w4d... we have... a date ;)

My mood while writing this blog: relieved

We went off to my appointment as usual today... BP and urine perfect as usual. I'm actually impressed my BP wasn't through the roof, I was SO irritable in that waiting room! LOL

Anyway the doc gave me two options: he could do a membrane sweep this morning and hope that got things going, or we could go straight for induction in a week's time. I elected to go for the membrane sweep first, so had that done this morning. He went in and gave it a good sweep - he says he can feel baby's head, although he's still quite far back and I'm dilated 1 cm and soft, which is good! I reckon baby boy doesn't like being poked in the head at all: he's been like a jack-in-the-box all day today since, hasn't stopped moving. I'm also contracting on and off, with some cramping, and have lost the rest of my plug in bits n pieces all day, had some bloody discharge, which the doc said would be normal. Not the world's most pleasant procedure, I'll tell you that, quite uncomfortable, but bearable and, to be honest, more action than I've seen in MONTHS LOL. J/k, omg! LOL

Anyway, if this doesn't bring little one out of his hidey-hole, then we are scheduled for induction next Tuesday 1 July... I'll call closer to the time to confirm and find out what time I'm meant to be in.

YAY! God it's so good to know that this will definitely be over soon! I can't wait to meet my angel, and Jay's been just as irritable lately - he says he's had enough with this "covert surveillance" (i.e. the scans), he wants to meet him already... all very sweet, and he insisted on taking me in himself this morning, so I wouldn't have to deal with taxi's and/or public transport... AND he didn't even look at his watch once, which he usually does all morning... so I think he's made a conscious effort to just not stress me out this week (I hate that I keep him from work on these days)

He also had his promotion confirmed yesterday in writing... I am SO proud of him, even though he drives me wild at the moment - last leg hormones I think - as he's sleeping more than I am! LOL, ah the bliss of pregnancy ;)

So 1 JULY HERE WE COME! XXX

YAY! A date! Even though it would be great for baby boy to make his grand entrance on his own, I'm sure it's wonderful knowing there's an end in sight. Can't wait for you!!! :)
