21-8-2008 - Sorry for being scarce!

My mood while writing this blog: Tired but happy

I’m sorry for being so scarce – my mom and aunt are over from SA for two weeks, so I’m not online at all… catching up, as I won’t see them again for another year… Anyway I hope all is well with all of you who have your babies and those of you expecting – Izzie – best thoughts for your birth, thinking of you, I’m sure your little one is here by now – can’t wait to find out!

All is going very well here otherwise – Slevin is just AMAZING, and despite giving me a couple of sleepless nights where I thought I was going to wring his gorgeous little neck… I love him dearly, and am so lucky – will upload new pics soon…I’ve had to start supplementing him with a bottle or two of formula at night, as my milk production is not keeping up with him – he’s not giving me enough time between feeds to replenish my supply… and I know they say that he will stimulate more milk and I’ll produce, but he’s not stimulating any more – he’s just screaming in frustration. I’m kind of sad about the whole thing, but it’s offset by seeing him satisfied and sleeping soundly, rather than screaming all night and not taking the breast… I best get used to it, since I’ll be weaning him in about 4 – 6 weeks in any event.

His 6 week check up went so smoothly, and he was up to 5.62kg – he’s such a happy baby, so vocal, smiley, and grabby lately! Lol. I just can’t get enough of him!

I made the call today about getting an IUD fitted… they won’t do it until I have my period. Argh. When will that be?? I have no idea. Very frustrating, but I think will be worth it in the long run, for the peace of mind… so now we wait… and buy stupid condoms. Gah.
