28-3-2009 - Having a boy, back from vacation

My mood while writing this blog: sick but content

I had a wonderful time in Ohio! It was so nice to see my friends from kindergarden and second grade. My friend from kindergarden has a 7 month old. So it was helpful to see their routine. I knew babies eat often, but it was surprising to actually see how often it really is. Looks like my husband and I are going to be pretty busy lol.

While in Ohio, I caught a cold/flu/sinus infection thing. I finally went to the dr after 5 days. He put me on zithromax. So hopefully I'll be feeling better soon. I missed almost a week of work for the vacation. And then I had to call out 2 days since I'm sick. I hate to miss so much work. I feel bad and when I see my paycheck, I'll feel even worse. But I need the rest and relaxation. I think that while i was gone I did a little too much. And then I worked the very next day after I got home. I should have rested some.

Okay, so before the vacation, we found out that we're having a BOY! We are so excited! I kind of wanted a girl, but I am just as happy either way. I was actually surprised it was a boy. I just knew it was a girl lol. I didn't like any of the baby boy stuff in stores. I'm not a sports person, or into firetrucks.... And the other option seemed to be jungle animals, disney, or pooh. I am so much more into the girls stuff lol. So we wanted to do monkeys or frogs. We ended up finding the cutest jungle animal crib set. So we bought it. It was too cute to pass up. And we can play up monkeys with a rug, pictures and stuff. We are getting loaded up with baby clothes! All sizes. People at work surprise me with little outfits and things, my friends bought me a few and we bought a few. Tomorrow, i'm getting a bunch of hand-me-downs from my best friend's sister. I say anything helps. Whatever anyone wants to give us, we'll take lol.

I've been feeling this baby boy kick like crazy lately! It first hit me at work about 2 weeks ago. I didn't expect it being a first-time pregnancy and all. And it made me a little nauseated haha. But he's just been doing cartwheels in there lately. Especially after I eat or drink anything! And once my stomach grumbled and the baby jumped like it scared him. Still getting used to this feeling. But it's so nice to know that he's alright in there.
