| 18-5-2009 - Baby Shower Fun | My mood while writing this blog:Happy |
Well, I think I over-excerted myself lol. I had to call in sick to work today, which I feel horrible about. But man, do I feel yucky today! I worked 2 pretty bad nights in a row, and planned to rest up the next day. Well, my resting ended up being going to the movies (which I couldn't refuse), and fixing stuff with my husband around the house afterwards. Luckily after a little while, he called his dad to come help because it was killing me to sit on the floor and then get up to get what he needed. He was under the house, so I was running around for him. Our bathtub was draining directly under the house and after I guess 8 months of it, the humidity in the house was getting bad. I'm glad we found the problem. So anyway, I planned to sleep in the next day since the baby shower wasn't until 4:00... Well, at 8:30 my sister-in-law who was helping plan the shower called! Looked like it was going to rain all day long!!! So our pavillion in the park was mostly likely not going to work out very well. So now, after 3 days of going going going, my husband and I are up at 8:30 cleaning the house from top to bottom so we could have the shower at the house. It really wasn't that dirty.... I don't know why it took us so long. But we finished about 3:00... just in time to help decorate! Finished decorating just in time for everyone to show up! Needless to say, not resting in 4 days has made me sick! I woke up with hardly a voice lol and a cough.
My sweet husband brought me flowers yesterday morning. They had lots of lillies, which are my favorite. He said that the baby shower wasn't just about the baby, but about me too. Awww.... Last time I wrote a blog, I was going nuts over stuff in the bathroom being out of place and thought he might have had someone over. Not that it was a woman, but could have been anyone. I think I was just trying to make problems. We figured out what all had happened lol. Sometimes, with these hormones, I get a little crazy. Not to mention that I'd been cheated on before by someone else. It's kind of hard to forget that and move on. But Mike's pretty understanding.
Well, the baby shower went really well! Eventhough the plans changed last minute, we had a really big turn out! I mean, it seemed like 30 people came! The gift table overflowed with gifts! We got everything we needed! I mean, to the point we could bring home our baby boy today and be fine! We just need the pack n play, which we'll get soon. Everyone participated in the games! It was a co-ed shower because I have some guy friends who I wanted to be there. We had a game just for the guys where they had to blow up a balloon, put it up their shirt and bend over to tie their shoes without popping the balloon!!!! SO FUNNY!!!! We did a baby food tasting contest... We put little babies in balloons for everyone to pop and whoever got twins won. It was supposed to be water balloons to simulate the water breaking lol. But it was inside. We had another game where everyone had to cut a piece of yarn to guess my belly size.... Guess who won that one! My mom was very close, but my husband won! Everyone thought that was so cute how he won. He got it right to the point! It was pretty amazing. But I was really happy with the turn out and how many people made it. One person didn't rsvp so they waited at the pavillion for a while lol and then he called my husband. We didn't think he was coming, so didn't tell him. Oh, and my husband's best friend gave us condoms as part of his gift so "it wouldn't happen again." He cracks me up!!! I should have expected it! My best friend and sister-in-law did an amazing job planning and organizing it. I must say it was the most fun I've had without a beer in my hand! It was the only time we had a get-together without alcohol and everyone had a blast. It's so nice to know that so many people are there for us.
So I figured I needed today to rest up. Poor work. I feel bad, but I would have been miserable if I went.
