| 05-6-2009 - 32 weeks appt and I have a BIG baby.... 8 weeks to go.... | My mood while writing this blog:Tired |
We had our 32 week appointment today. The doctor still says that the baby is 4.5 to 5 pounds, like he said last week, which made me feel a little better. My husband was 9 pounds 8 ounces or something, so I fear having a HUGE baby! But the doctor says he predicts the baby will be 7.5 to 8 pounds at birth. I asked if he thought we could go early and I got a smile, but no answer lol. However, he then asked if I wanted an epidural and all that stuff, asked me about breast feeding.. and even told me to start thinking about birth control options. So I take that as a good sign haha. But on the other hand, I'm just looking for anything that says we'll deliver early! The baby kicked the doppler twice and then gave the dr a real big kick! I think he's ready to come out :) But I know that 8 weeks early is a little too early. I don't want complications by any means, I'm just tired of being pregnant.
I never thought I'd get tired of it. I've been pretty lucky actually. No problems sleeping as of yet. I could sleep for 11 hours at night and take a nap during the day! I've had no complications (knock on wood) thus far. So, I think I'm pretty lucky. However, my feet and legs have been swelling so bad and they get painful. I've cut my work hours down to 2 or 3 days a week. I can't work more than 2 days in a row. I get pitting edema on my shins. I find it terribly hard to stay away from salt unless I want to eat salad and peanut butter all day. I mean, that cuts out canned food, processed food, frozen food, and eating out anywhere. I don't eat fresh meat. So... I don't have many choices! I asked the dr about taking a diuretic and he said not while I'm pregnant. I just have to stay away from salt and soda, drink lots of water and prop my feet up. So other than that, I've been good. Just tired of pregnancy now. I don't want to gain anymore weight. Oh and to give an idea of how much water I've been retaining... I actually lost 6 pounds in 1 day! And I'm still swollen! I'm just ready to pack these maternity clothes up and wear my jeans!
Everything at home is going great! Mike and I are getting along great. I think the issues we had last week are now in the past. It's been nice here lately. We've never had and real issues before, so I think it was a learning experience for both of us.
Anywho, that's my update :)
