24-6-2009 - My beach mini vacation

My mood while writing this blog: happy

My husband, Mike and I planned on going to the beach for one night. Just to get away and get a change of scenery. Well, my best friend, brandy was going to house sit for us since we have our dog that needs taken care of. Mike was supposed to go to work Sunday night and get off early. So, I told Brandy to meet me at my house when I get off work so she could pick up my house keys. Well, Brandy and I meet up and Mike's car is still in the driveway, so I was wondering why Brandy didn't go inside. All the lights were off. So I unlock the door and Mike says "surprise." There's all kind of candles lit everywhere! He made chocolate covered strawberries for me! There was nice relaxing music! And massage stuff set up! It was sooooo nice. And then Brandy comes in after me hahaha! Well, I pretty much gave her the keys and said "well, I guess you should go. Looks like Mike planned a romantic evening for me." Mike is so sweet. He's the best. He said that since our vacation was going to be so short, he wanted to start it early. Awww, we had a great night.

The beach was really nice. I did go out in my bikini lol. And nobody even cared! I'm so glad I didn't buy a one piece. Nobody gave me any looks or anything! Just one kid yelled out "yup, she's pregnant." But kids will be kids and I thought it was kind of funny. Me and mike just laughed. I layed out in the sun. WE went on the beach and I dug a hole out for my belly so I could lay on my stomach! Felt soooooooo goooood! And it was funny. Most of our time we spent at the pool though. I tried to get a tan, but instead I got BURNED! Phew am I burned!!! And I have to work today. I haven't been this burned since I was a kid. I really didn't expect to get so red, since I usually don't burn at all. But it will turn into a nice tan in a few days. I'll just have to live with the pain.

The night at the beach, we walked around and all kinds of bands were set up along the street on each block. It was so nice to hear all the different kinds of music. And there was 2 stunt shows with fire blowing and stuff. It was fun. Plus, the walking was good for me. I was so sad to come home.

My dog, Layla has her surgery tomorrow. I hope it goes well. I am hating that I have to leave her at the vet and then she goes into surgery. She's been my baby for the past 2 years. So I feel that I should protect her, you know? But we need to get this taken care of since early diagnosis of cancer is the best. And hopefully it will make her paw feel better to get that spot taken off.
