| 02-7-2009 - Toxemia... Doctor took me out of work | My mood while writing this blog:Okay |
Had my 36 appointment today. My blood pressure was 150/90. Mind you, when I first started this pregnancy it was 120/60 and then kind of stayed at 140/80. He asked me about headaches, which I have had a few, but they don't last long. I notice them mostly when I change positions. I know it's a sign of high blood pressure, but I really didn't think anything of it. Then, he looked at my feet and saw all my swelling. Said he was surprised I haven't called or come in. But, I had shown him my swelling my past 2 visits and all he said was that it will get worse with the heat. So I didn't think anything of it when it did get worse! And today is actually the best it has been for the past 3 visits! Anywho, so they made me rest and took my blood pressure which went back down. When I got dressed, he took it soon after and it shot back up again. So he asked if I still worked and I said I do. He replied with "not anymore." Said I had signs of Toxemia or Pre-eclampsia.
I tried to talk him into inducing today, half way jokingly lol. Today is my mom's and brother's birthday. And also it was my friend's (he was military and lost his life in texas) birthday. So I figured July 2nd must be a good bday for me to know 3 people with this birthday. Needless to say, he didn't fall for it haha. Said the baby's brain develops quite a bit in the next 4 weeks and it's too early. But he did say he'd be inducing me between July 22nd and 25th. I guess I'll get the actual date on my next visit. It is nice to have a date so that my husband and family can plan to be with me on that date. And I don't have to worry about going into labor and contacting everyone.
My Nanny is still in the hospital. I visited her yesterday. She's giving the hospital staff a fit as usual. She's very particular and wants things a certain way... her way! And if they are not, she won't stop talking about it until it is her way haha! Seriously! They did all kinds of tests including CT scans to see where the cancer came from and bone scans. And more tests, but I'm not sure what since there wasn't any results yet. We don't know anything right now. My parents are going back up there today to see if they found out anything new. I so hope she can meet her grandson though. I really wanted to make her a great grandma. And if she's on radiation, I'm not sure I will be able to around her, much less my baby is he's been born then. So, I guess we'll see.
Well, I went by work today and gave them my dr note. My boss was really good about it. She's real nice anyway. And she told my husband that I'm a good nurse! Aww :) Always nice to hear that you're doing a good job at your job. Of course, I'm there telling her I'll have to renew my CPR and my computer training as both are up around september. And she told me not to worry about my job. i'm exempt from everything that's expired lol. She said I can worry about it later.
It kind of stinks that I'm out of work. I was looking forward to the next few paychecks. But I am pretty glad that I'll have some nice alone time with Mike before there's 3 of us living here.
Oh yeah and by the way, the baby is fine :) I had a nonstress test thing and everything looked good with the baby. Forgot to mention that little important bit.
