HELLO LADIES,
WELL I SCHEDULED MY BABY SHOWER FOR MAY 16. MY MOM WAS GOING TO PAY FOR IT BUT SOME REALLY BAD CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE COME UP AND I DON'T WANT MY MOTHER TO GIVE ME MY BABY SHOWER AND I WAS TALKING TO MY BEST FRIEND AND SHE WAS LIKE DO YOU REALLY NEED ONE? OR DO YOU JUST WANT ONE ? AM I BEING SELFISH FOR WANTING ONE EVEN IF I THROW IT FOR MYSELF? MY BF WAS LIKE TIMES ARE TO HARD FOR PEOPLE RIGHT NOW FOR YOU TO BE HAVING A BABY SHOWER AND ASKING FOR STUFF. BUT I HAVE LOTS OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND MY IN-LAWS ARE ALL ASKING ME CONSTANTLY ABOUT MY SHOWER. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO I AM CONFUSED RIGHT NOW AND IRRITATED BECAUSE ON ONE HAND I NED STUFF FOR MY BABY AND ON THE OTHER HAND I DON'T WANT TO HAVE PEOPLE SPENDIN MONEY THEY DONT HAVE. SO, I NEED YOU LADIES HONEST OPINION PLEASE AND THANK YOU

what i have come to realize is, that having a baby shower isn't about the gifts,but its about celebrating the arrival that is soon too come. I would say still have the baby shower it doesn't have to be anything expensive, maybe like a small get together for everyone to celebrate. if they bring gifts great, if not thats okay too. as long as everyone is having fun and celebrating the good times, thats all that matters !

Yes, I think you deserve one even if you do have to give it yourself its a celebration of your new baby. I don't look at baby showers as asking people for anything the economy is not that bad they can at least be able to afford something small b/c its the thought that count. I didn't have one for my second child my son and I feel terrible b/c my family wanted to celebrate and buy cute things. So have it and ask each friend to bring a dish and it shouldn't hurt for them to pitch in and help...

omg - we are the polar opposites! I didnt want one they are making me have one! ( i dont like ppl lol) but this is what you should do...... the next close person to you that say ARE YOU HAVIMG A SHOWER? tell them you dont know - and to ask your mom, that way if you dont want all the wieght to fall on mom- ppl like your in laws can help out and eat the cause OR have a lite fare shower that wont cost much - u know lite food and bevearges and ppl should be supportive( its about mommy and baby right?!) OR last just register online somewhere send your fam online notifications and if ppl send you stuff so be it - its guilt free , YOUR guilt free ok ..... my BACK ttyl

Girl if you want a shower, then hay have your damn shower! The ones who are saying not to have one are the broke ones who cant really afford to get you anything and they are trying to use that "do you really need one" line to cover up. Its not like you asking for people to drop or spend a thousand dollars on you and the baby....DAMN! HAVE YOUR SHOWER!!! Even if you only get 3 gifts...trust they will help in the long run! And yes times are hard for people right now and everyone dont have it, but trust me honey when it comes down to a baby.....people will dig deep to help you out. I was worried about that too at my shower and girl I got more gifts then I had ever imagend.

No i don't think that you are being selfish if you want a baby shower then have one just let your family and friend no that it the thought that count and they will know that they don't have to go all out for your shower just bring something that my baby will need! Honestly i probably going to have to throw my own babyshower as wel because i don't really have dedicated friends that will throw me one so I feel that same as you but I'm not choices it really is the thought that count!!

I think theres nothing wrong with wanting one. I personally am not having one for a few reasons. I think theres nothing wrong with picking a day and time and call it a baby shower but also a get together. Dont need lots of food and not even games unless you can provide them. If you can do it yourself, why not, go ahead. It is tough times, but true enough you will need as much as possible as gifts for the baby. Another idea would be to simply tell the ppl thats asking about what you need for your baby, since they know your babys on the way, they can still buy something if they would like.

I would have a baby shower if I were you. I didn't want one at first but my sis insisted on giving me one. I was thinking baby showers are a waste when it comes to getting what you need. Yes times are bad but now is the time to come together and help each other out. I didn't get everything i needed but i did end up having a great time. we need that .

I don't think your being selfish at all for wanting a babyshower, i think most women want one instead of needing one. Yea true times are tough right now, but for some reason people just love buying things for babies! So go ahead and plan your own babyshower girl and have a blast doing it!!
