| 17-11-2008 - Zane 5 months plus (my first ever blog!!) | My mood while writing this blog:happiest ive ever been in my entire life |
Well where do you start. Im bored as my little fellas in bed asleep and saying as i cant play with him i thought i'd write about him.
I was the most unmaternal person in the history of earth, i'd never really wanted children (or so i thought) had worst pregnancy ever yet i cant imagine life without my little man.
He is the most important person in the world to be. I have never loved like i love him and everythinig he does makes me smile. I feel blessed (and thats words from a person who is NOT religious in the slightest)
Hes such a good baby im really lucky. I breast fed until he was 6 weeks old, i found that really hard and i wasnt eating properly so Zane was getting bad windy bellys and crying a bit so i went onto formula and i havent looked back.
When he was about 10/11 weeks old i put him into his big cot in his own room as he was loving stretching out and in the swing crib i had for him his arm kept going outside the crib and getting stuck so he'd wake himself up. He took to the cotbed straight away and pretty much from around week 11/12ish maybe earlier or bit later (hard to remember as time rolls into one!!) he has slept through the night. It started with him sleeping 9pm till about 5am, then 8pm till 6am, now he does full 12 hour shifts 7 till 7 (or there abouts) , this all happened within a matter of days not weeks, even when he's poorly, nothing disturbs my mans sleep (he's like his mum) We have a routine of bath, get ready for bed in pjs, have half his bottle, put his sleeping bag on, have rest of bottle and off to bed. He rarely has a dummy, never sleeps with one (i say never.. probably he'll have one in when i put him down say 1 night in 10 and then spits it out almost straight away) he just doesnt seem to get loads of comfort off it like other babies do. I do love it the odd time he does have it in though, i call it his "maggie simpson" look!
I know people will hate me!! but he very rarely cries, i know i know!! im lucky - so much so that if he does cry i get this kinda panic look in my face of "whats wrong! what do i do!" its almost funny. Every body who meets him says he's so content and i hope thats down to my parenting (although i know some of it is down to being lucky and having a good baby) quite sure i couldnt get another the same.
He's just gotten his first 2 teeth, bottom two popped through last saturday (8th NOv) just before he was 5 months, (again folk are gonna just curse me) but i didnt even know they were there, he had no waking during the night crying etc, i only discovered them when he bit down on my finger and i checked. Prior to that (and still is) he'd been slavering none stop and chewing everything in sight but assumed this was down to his age. So im now brushing his pearly whites morning and night (although he was zonked today so i must admit i missed tonghts - bad mum :D
He's super strong on his legs, loves to stand up whilst we hold him for balance, he can hold his weight himself he just wobbles all over (he's fine if he's holding your fingers though). Put him in his walker yesterday and he was trying so hard to make it move (but he's still a tiny bit short for it) still he manged 3 steps (tiny weeny ones) bless him.
He chats none stop, he's went from SCREAMING constantly (annoying lol), to blowing raspberrys, to cooing, and is now just talking jibberish, he stares in your eyes and chats for about 30 mins, lots of dadadadada noises which im not happy about (ha ha) and loads of other jibberish, but he means every single word.
Im back at work 4 days a week and although i miss hiim im liking work, it makes for good adult conversation and i also look forward to getting pay cheques each month again (well decent ones) Zane goes to nursery 1 day a week and the other 3 are shared amongst family (im so lucky like that) He settled straight into nursery which im pleased about and i love getting the report sheets they give after his day there, they have funny things in like "Zane played by the ball pool and chewed each ball before throwing it away" ha ha so typical of him.
I started weaning him at week 18 i think it was, he loves his grub. on 2 meals a day at the moment but defo ready to move upto 3 which im doing from tomorrow. I make all my own food (apart from porridge for breaky - which i mix with apple purree, pear purree etc) he loves banana and most other veg, doesnt seem to fussy, obviously he cant have meat till he's 6 months so its just a mix of tons of various vegs at the moment, im trying to follow the annabell karmel book which is really good and helpful for someone like myself who didnt have a clue. My freezer is full of ice cubed purree's. He opens wide and takes it from the spoon and then kicks his legs and makes noises for more with his mouth wide open again. He especially loves his porridge and has his mouth open for more as soon as he's taking a mouthful off the spoon - greedy boy.
Anyway to sign off - he's just one happy boy who only has to smile to make my heart melt, in fairness he just has to be there and my heart melts. He's everything to me and more. i never knew feelings like this existed.
If anyone has any questions or anything i'll always help as much as i can, at end of day things may work for you or they may not, i think all help is invaluable and this site has been brill for me and continues to be.
Loads of love to everyone.
Sharon and Zane xx
