07-4-2008 - Bellybutton has left the building

I think I would almost give an arm or a leg for a long weekend! Those two days off are the only days of the week that seem to fly by for me!! Saturday was a whirlwind of errands, a baby shower (not mine), and too much basketball, LOL. My husband was furious that UNC lost, and has disowned them as his team. (like that will last). Anyhow, Sunday was a day of landscaping, which basically was entirely too much money and too much effort, lol. We bought our house last June, and the seller put in a lot of cheap shrubbery that didn't make it through the summer, so basically our flowerbed was just a bunch of dead bushes. Being the preggo that I am, I enlisted the help of 3 neighbor boys for the going price of $8 each, and had them help the hubby do most of the work!

Back to the subject though, my bellybutton has deserted me. I now have a somewhat flat, non-inny bellybutton! I am not sure as to whether it is going to become an outie or just flatten out completely. I can touch it and feel the bottom of it even with the rest of my stomach now. It is just so weird! Bellybutton is a traitor, as I did not want an outie - not only that, but I have this hideous dark hair growing around it on my very pale 'can't-go-to-the-tanning-bed' skin! Traitor.

Well, tomorrow is the big 20 week ultrasound! Hurray! Although I cheated by going to a private u/s clinic to find out the sex early, I am still ultra-excited to see baby boy again! I loved seeing him move around and suck his thumb! Seeing him in there just makes me feel that much closer to him, it's so unbelievable that my husband and I actually created life out of love. Anyhow, besides just seeing him again, I am totally looking forward to learning about his growth and health! The private u/s clinic does not tell you anything about your baby's health or size; their u/s are for 'fun & entertainment' only. So I want to know that my baby has all the body's 2000 parts and that he is healthy and growing on schedule! Right now all I know is that he has 10 fingers and 10 toes, a nice round head, and some pretty big looking feet! Tomorrow at 2:00 is just around the corner, but it still seems like I am waiting forever!!
