25-4-2008 - Fat Feet, Fast Heartrate, & LABOR agh!

My mood while writing this blog: Happy, ready for weekend

My feet are so bad about swelling! I don't do a lot of walking or anything, I sit at my desk at work with a little box to put my feet on, and they still look like they belong on an elephant! It's so gross. I have never had fat feet before! I am so used to looking down at the long skinny bony feet, but they have taken a leave of abscence!! I am getting a crease in my foot where my ankle bends, ew. On top of the feet, I went to the doctor today, and they are sending me to a cardiologist to check on why my heart is beating so hard and fast! It just pounds away in my chest, when I am not even doing anything. Just sitting here! The midwife said that could be part of the reason why I feel out of breath, because my blood is pumping so fast it's not quite fully oxygenated. We'll see; the cardiologist has not called me yet to set up an appointment. But, everything is fine with baby :) He is moving around as usual, just being his cute little baby self :) Today when she put the doppler on my tum to get his heartrate, he would move to kick/hit it everytime! He didn't like it being on there I guess! I can't wait to meet him :) The only downside is that it will require LABOR to get him here! BOO!! A couple we are friends with just had their first baby yesterday! She is a precious baby girl. LABOR SUCKED for Dawn! She was induced on Wednesday morning on a Pitocin drip. She never dialated past 1 cm!! They let her get up and walk around and eat and all of that Wednesday night, and then used that Cervigel to get her to thin out. She had contractions ALL NIGHT with hardly any progress, and they didn't give her an epidural til Thursday morning! She dialated like 3 cm right away after that, and had the baby by 12:30 in the afternoon. I don't want a labor like that :( the same thing happened to my sister almost exactly, except that her water broke on its own, and the epidural didn't take and she ended up getting a C-section. Boo. Atleast once labor is over, ITS OVER, and you get an excellent exchange for all of the pain - the baby!!!
