14-1-2010 - TTC Baby #2 compared to 'surprise' Baby #1

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

Chathum – Conceived around December 1^st. Didn’t think anything of it at the time, wasn’t expecting to get pregnant but should have – considering the ‘situation’, lol. Chathum is a case of biology at work!
TTC Baby #2 - I’ll know when this baby is made because I am anticipating it! This time it’s a case of actually TRYING to make a baby. I have mapped out calendars of the right dates and when I should ovulate and making time to BD and CDs and DPOs…

Chathum – December 9^th – went to breakfast at Bob Evan’s and literally everything seemed to have a funny taste or smell – it wasn’t even a thought in my mind to think I was pregnant
TTC Baby #2 – I interpret EVERYTHING as a pregnancy symptom, so for awhile I talk myself into believing I am pregnant – then the BFNs and AF tells me otherwise

Chathum – bbs sore for a few days – never felt that before! Then I kept thinking it was time to start AF and when I get to the bathroom – nothing
TTC Baby #2 – again, I think I am pregnant because I think of everything as a symptom – no sore bbs so far in this TTC experience – it will be interesting to see if they get sore when I get my BFP

Chathum – tested on Monday December 17^th, 2007. I was going to buy a test on Sunday but Chat didn’t want me to. I bought it on my lunch break at work, thinking I wasn’t sure if I was late yet or not, but I knew I felt different than I have ever felt before
TTC Baby #2 – I don’t know how many times I have POAS since summer of 09 – probably 15? Even in months where there would have to be some sort of miracle conception I would still POAS just in hopes that I’d get a surprise, lol!

Chathum – E.P.T – 2 in a box, came home from work and tested – it turned positive before I was even done POAS! BFP on 16/17 DPO (not sure if I O’d on CD13 or 14) – which put me at 2 or 3 days late for AF – and I didn’t even realize!
TTC Baby #2 – this last month of TTC, I though I really could be pregnant – BD on the right time and all of that – so I started POAS at like 9DPO, hoping to get a faint positive. BFN. POAS again 10 dpo at night, nothing. POAS 11 dpo first thing – nothing. POAS 12 dpo, nothing. I would stare at the test til my eyes crossed, turning it to every angle – thinking somehow BFP would be there and somehow I was just missing it. Nope, BFN. AF right on time that Sunday. Bah.

A whole new experience! It’s very different when you set out with the intent of making a baby. I really expected it to happen the first try, so it’s very different taking a pregnancy test when you don’t know what the results are going to be. You hope for a BFP, but you get BFNs and it’s a disappointment. I’ve already had a round of jealousy when my DH’s best friend said they were pregnant with their second. No fair – I started trying first! Granted, I do already have one child, and I know there are several women out there who are still TTC their first baby, so I can only speak from my prospective on it as a first time TTC but a second time mom. I am hoping I can relax about it a little bit more this time, because now I know what the disappointment feels like when you test too soon and repeatedly get BFN when I could have just waited to see if AF was going to show – dang! Too late now, I am addicted to POAS! This month, DH and I will BD on the good days and I will really try to wait it out before I POAS. At least til 13 DPO I hope! That’s my goal. Though if I start getting sore bbs, I guarantee I will break and test early, lol. Tonight is Day 4 of BD around the good days – today is CD 12 so a super good day to BD. We started on CD 7, lol! DH is feeling good I am sure. BD CD7, CD8, CD9, CD10. Break on CD11 since DH working til close. I hope this month is our month.
