12-9-2009 - can u explain y???

My mood while writing this blog:

Ok so today my fiance was told that his father had found (fiances) long lost sister- and she was supposed to be going over to his fathers house to meet everyone, well it happens to be my younger brothers birthday today so we were also supposed to go to that , but i am having some issues with my cousin and did not want to c him at the birthday party so i we were just going to avoid confrontation and just go with my fiance to meet his sister- i told this to my fiances mom b4 we left and as soon as i steeped out of the house she ran to my fiance and said i had disrespected her....... at what point did any of the conversation have to do with her ... AT ALL????? now im confused becuz apparently i made her cry and i didnt even say anything about her ( and i was talking TO her) and i did not say anything in a mean voice that she could have takin the wrong way so can someone please explain how in gods name she made this about her????

um, this has nothing to do with you. This is her shit. Hard as it might be, you can't let it get to you. What is important is that you have an honest conversation with your fiancee about your perspective on what happened. Stay calm, stay matter of fact, and just state the facts, and how concerned you are that his mother misunderstood you. And remember -- she's been estranged from her daughter for a long time and just now reconnecting. Very emotional time. Probably set her off balance a little bit. When she calms down, you can let her know that you are concerned that she was offended and may have misunderstood you, as you had no intention of upsetting her. And you can ask her perspective on the situation. You might not ever agree with her, but it will give u a clue into the workings of the mind of your future mother in law. But bottom line -- stop trying to figure it out on your own. You can't. There's too much missing information. And ultimately, as long as things are ok with you and your finacee, that's really all that matters!! good luck :)

some people feel the need to make everything into something about themselves...have compassion for these people...they need a reality check .....its not worth the trouble to b upset b.c she is crazy ..

I agree, it can only be a misunderstanding!!! Maybe your fiance can ask her what she thought was so disrespectful?

Sounds to me like she may have misinterpreted the situation. Maybe you should find out what she thought you said???
