09-1-2010 - Birth story

My mood while writing this blog:
Ok

On the 5th of jan i woke up and realised i had a brown colour distcharge and thought cool this might be my show! I felt like i was about to get my period and i had a little bit of back ache all day so i new this baby was coming. By 7pm that night my back ache had gotten worse but nothing i couldnt handel i went for a walk and carried on with everything by 8.30pm i had stated having the odd irregular contraction but they didnt seem that painful so i didnt think much. Then i noticed they were coming quite often so i rang Karl at work an he came home an started timing them they were 2min we left for hospital at 9.30pm and i was 9cm dialated when we arrived! The nurses couldnt believed it! They filled the bath and i just walked around thru my contractions then i at about 11.00pm i hoped into bath and Baby Indi was born 11.29pm at 8lb 13oz after 4 pushes. It was amazing but painful and i had a second degree tear but it was all worth it! Having problems breastfeeding again and my nipples are bleeding and very sore i just hope they get better soon im in so much pain when i feed and she keeps spewing up the blood.

She has a head full of black hair and is very cute!

Hey hun..congrats..I was 7cm before I got to the hospital..but I was stuck in traffic with my contractions..I thought I wasn't going to make it..lol...use lanolin on your nipples..you can leave it on when the baby feeds too..I got really sore nipples that cracked and bled with my first..and got blisters on them too..very painful..if you can..leave your nipples out when you can..to get a bit of air to them..and make sure indie is latched right..and she has the whole of the nipple..(a great big mouthful of the areola around the nipple)..in her mouth..the nipple should be at the back of her throat..that way it shouldn't bleed as much..good luck hun...oh another thing for cracked nipples is a cabbage leaf..lol..stuff one in your bra for an hour..if you can..and it really helps..also with stitches too..I found that when I had really really bad stitches with my first that If you put a Panty pad in the fridge to get it cold and then in your pants..the cold helps with the swelling and just soothes the area down there..good luck hun...take care..Xxx

WOW! If everyone had a labor that easy I think we would all have more kids, LOL. Maybe this is a sign of her personality, easy going. My nipples got that way too but I started using the lanolin cream and it really helped. I used it before and after each time. Just hang in there and hopefully it will get better. It's always painful when you start. Congrats!!

awww congrats hun!! i was 8cm when i got to the hospital and the nurse was like wow ur doing good, lol i didnt think they were that bad either!! haha funny!! till the hole pushing part oo-man lol, maybe try carmex for ur nippels just make sure u wip it off b4 feeding it works really good for me!! good luck hun!!

Oooh, congrats! I can't wait for my bundle. Good luck with the breast feeding, its hard work huh? I was hoping it was going to be a breeze second time around!
