| 13-9-2009 - 1st Trimester | My mood while writing this blog:Happy |
7/15/2009: Have appt with a new OB today. Currently 10DPO so took a HPT. Saw a very very slight line and considered it an evap. OB said they would do an infertility workup as it seems I had not ovulated in the last two cycles and my cycles were getting longer and longer. Part of the intial blood work was to get baseline measures, including HCG. (Weight/106 lbs)
7/16/2009: Took FRER HPT this morning and that faint line from yesterday was slightly darker, though very faint still. I called my OB to ask if my blood work was back. Sure enough BFP!!!! She said "you're very very newly pregnant". HCG @ 10DPO = 27. They will run progesterone on the blood from yesterday and I will go in tomorrow to see if my numbers are doubling. I pray this is a sticky bean!!
7/17/2009: Just got the call that my Progesterone @ 10DPO is 17.3 I'm really nervous that this isn't good enough. My OB said if it was under 20 then I'd be put on a supplement....well it is, so I'll pick up the prescription today. Research I've done says the average is 20 at 4 weeks....well, I'm only in week 3, so I hope my number is okay. At least I have the supplement.
7/17/2009: HCG @ 12DPO = 67!! YAY :) That's doubling every 40 hours!! Unfortunately my Progesterone was 16.5 Those numbers are before I started the supplement. So back to the lab I go for more blood to be drawn. Hopefully the supplements will bring my progesterone above 20 and my HCG will continue to double the way it's supposed to.
7/21/2009: HCG @ 16DPO = 635; Prog. = 26.5 Looks like those supplements are working! And HCG is doubling every 28 hours!! My dr. said we'll do an u/s as soon as HCG gets up to 1000 - hopefully that will be next week :)
7/22/2009: Today is the first day I'm feeling any symptoms. My breasts feel just a tad tender, with a slight burning sensation on the left side ;)
7/24/2009: 19DPO/4w5d ~ HCG = 2983; Prog. = 29.3 HCG is doubling every 32 hours :)
7/28/2009: 23DPO/5w2d ~ HCG = 9957 Prog. = 33 HCG is doubling every 55 hours, which apparently is normal....I, of course, stressed (for a minute) about it taking more than 48 hours, but internet research says doubling every 48-72 hours is normal. Specifically HCG between 1200 & 6000 takes 72-96 hours to double. So, I'm ok.
7/31/2009: 5w5d ~ 1st Ultrasound. Today's u/s went good, as we saw a yok sac! So, that's waaay more than we ever saw with my last pregnancy. We didn't expect to see heartbeat since I'm still only in week 5, but the tech thinks she might have saw a blip of a heartbeat :) And, she thinks I might be closer to 5w2d. The gestational sac measured 1.2 cm which is 12mm and according to my research that's exactly where I should be at 5w5d :) I see my OB on Monday and hope to get another u/s scheduled so we can get a more accurrate EDD. (Weight/105 lbs)
8/3/2009: 6w/1d ~ 1st OB appt and all is on track, as per above test results. Nausea is starting to set in...I have been feeling nauseous for the past couple of days, and I seem to feel worse AFTER I eat. I will have another u/s next week to measure the fetus and get an "official" EDD :) (Weight/105 lbs)
8/14/2009: 7w5d ~ 2nd Ultrasound and I couldn't be happier. We have a nice strong heartbeat of 167bpm!! I would say week 7 has been the week I hit a wall. Have felt nauseous daily and ALL day. Just getting through the work day has been a challenge. I'm tired and whether I eat or not, it doesn't seem to help my symptoms. My bb's have definitely firmed up and continue to be tender. This pregnancy is a world of difference from my last one. Especially after today's u/s I know this is a sticky one! (Weight/ 104 lbs)
8/27/2009: 9w4d ~ 2nd OB appt and everything continues to go well. I was just expecting to go over family history and paperwork at todays appointment, but I got an ultrasound!! :) I'm so happy to say the baby is measuring perfectly at 9w4d with a heartbeat of 176bmp :) I found out I'm a carrier for Strep B, which just means I'll need antibiotics when I go into labor as not to pass it on to the baby. (Weight/104 lbs)
9/11/2009: 11w5d ~ NT Screening was today. NT measured 1.3, which is great news!! Baby was moving around and I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time which was 165bpm. It was such a beautiful sound, I got teary-eyed. (Weight/104 lbs)
