27-12-2009 - 2nd Trimester

9/25/2009: 13w5d ~ Got to hear the baby's heartbeat and a kick today!! Dr. says a kicking baby at 13 weeks is a sign of a healthy baby. (Weight/ 105lbs)

9/28/2009: 14w1d ~ Woke up this morning to terrible pain in what I thought was my bladder. I had noticed it the past couple of mornings, but it went away as the day progressed. Not today!! I could barely walk....Soooo, called the dr and went to see my OB/Nurse Prac. I got an u/s and they checked my cervix and all was good there. The baby was moving a groving - sooo cute!!!! They tested my urine to see if I had a UTI like I thought....not so much - it's called Round Ligament Pain...and OMG does it hurt!!! Apparently, the ligaments that hold the uterus in place get stretched out as the uterus grows...which can cause pain. Just another symptom in the joys of pregnancy!

As week 15 began all day sickness was at an end - yay!! However, acid reflux/heartburn has started up with a vengence....I'm living on Tums and Zantac.

10/19/2009: Last week hubby and I went on a 'babymoon' cruise to the Mexican Rivera. It was a great way to celebrate our growing family. I came home with more of a belly than I left with - don't know if it's from ALL the yummy food or if my bean is having a growth spurt - LOL!! Probably a little of both ;)

10/22/2009: 17w4d ~ OB appt. today and got 2nd trimester screening results which were great!! All is "negative". Baby's heartbeat was 154bpm and I had my first belly measurment....it was 17cm which, according to the nurse, is "perfect". (Weight/ 109lbs)

10/26/2009: As the 17th week ended and the 18th week begins I think I'm starting to feel movement for the first time. It's sort of a popping feeling to me...but it happens so infrequently that I second guess if that's really the baby. Can't wait for more distinct movement as time goes on.

10/27/2009: 18w2d ~ Had some major RLP today, making it uncomfortable to walk in the morning. By afternoon it was better! Guess the baby is having another growth spurt :)

10/30/2009: 18w5d ~ Today I felt distinct kicking. On my drive to work this morning is when I noticed it, so I put my hand on the area, and sure enough...another one!! I felt it on the inside and outside. It was truly amazing...called DH right away! This pregnancy is starting to go from the surreal to the real now and I'm so happy :)

11/03/2009: 19w2d ~ We had the anatomy ultrasound today and it went perfectly!!! The sex was not revealed and we still have a surprise on our hand. Most importantly the baby looks very healthy!! The dr. said everything looks "normal" and they have no concerns of any abnormalities...since I'm over 35 an amnio was an option, but with all the signs pointing positive we opted not to do one. The baby was moving around a lot and DH thinks the baby has the legs and feet of a boy! I guess time will tell :) Heartbeat was 145bpm

11/20/2009: 21w5d ~ Today's OB check went well....baby's heartbeat is 150bmp. My OB confirmed that all my test results look good and there would be more risk in an amnio at this point. He also said he never looks at the sex of the baby. I'm so glad, because the last thing I'd want it my OB accidentally slipping and telling me what we're having. So, looks like it will be a surprise to us all! (Weight/ 113lbs)

12/18/2009: 25w5d ~ Another good OB check today...baby's heartbeat is 144bpm. Belly measured 25cm...so right on target. The baby has been moving around a lot the past couple of days, like rolling type of movement...it's almost uncomfortable, but I love it at the same time!! (Weight/ 118lbs)
