09-2-2009 - Ultrasound goodMy mood while writing this blog:
good

Hey Everyone!

I had an ultrasound today to check how everything has healed since my fibroid surgery in July. It was the fastest ultrasound I ever had! I had several even before pregnancy and they had so much to check out it took forever! Anyway, the weirdest part of this was I had a MALE ultrasound tech. It was kind of weird since I had an abdominal and transvaginal U/S.

I still have 2 fibroids. The one my surgeon left on purpose b/c it is between my uterus and ovary and he did not want to compromise my fertility, and another tiny little one that is 2cm. Neither is inside the uterus which is very good news for future fertility!! And, I was surprised to see how small my uterus looked on the screen compared to what I have seen in the past :)

Thanks to all of you for the support you regularly give me. I appreciate all of the friends I have made through this fabulous tool. With a crazily busy life, I often feel closer to many of you lately than I do to my "real life" friends!!

I was wondering when I saw "ultrasound" !!Glad to see everything is still small.I'm still waiting on my surgery thing.WE just can't afford it.I'm up right now with severe back pain.My monthly is about due and the fibroids always get bigger then.I don't look forward to the bleeding this month!!Pray it will be lighter!!My last u/s ,it almost resembled a baby's head.Kinda weird.I can't wait to get rid of all of mine!!

I'm so happy for you, I know what you went through with those fibroids, you have another reason to celebrate. All my doctor are males and I never had a problem with that because they are good doctors, I like them a lot. I don't know why I won't have an ultrasound, I know I still have several fibroids my doc didn't want to touch because they were too small and they were hard to locate and he took five out.

YAY!!!! That's GREAT news!!!! That's funny what you said about your Uterus cause mine was so big with my gigantic tumor that I never got to see what mine looked like cause it was too BIG to fit on the screen-HA!HA! Then after surgery I got to see it and I think it smiled and said Thanks!!!! HA! I'm so very happy for you and glad that you got that thing OUT!!!! I can't wait for you to write and say you're PREGGERS!!!!
XOXOXOX~Laura

That's wonderful, nmck! I'm so happy for you! My nurse throughout all of my fertility treatments was a woman so by the time the doctor came in to perform the ultrasound once I was confirmed pregnant, I was desensitized to the whole trans-vaginal ultrasound thing. I totally didn't care anymore. Then during my pregnancy, 2 of the 3 docs in the OB practice were men and I actually saw them more frequently than the woman. I liked them all equally as they each had their pluses and minuses. After a while I didn't even consider that they were men... Now I don't care if my OB-GYN here is a male or female as long as they know their stuff...

Yay! I'm glad they're outside your uterus and it won't affect your fertility! Here's to baby dancing success as soon as you're ready!
