03-7-2009 - First OB Appt.

My mood while writing this blog: Great!

Well I finally got to see my OB, after several frustrating months of seeing my family doctor, who seemed to know nothing about pregnancy! Shannon was with me and he really liked the Dr. I chose.

The appointment was so great, he went over everything with us, my due date, my weight gain, test results, tests I will need, EVERYTHING!!

It was such a relief to finally feel like someone other than me is looking out for my baby.

He said that so far everything is perfect. He measured my uterus, said it was right on track (he says my due date is October 25, I dont mind being moved back from 20 weeks, Im just happy to finally have a real due date!!)

My weight was up to 129.5, but he had me starting at 110 the last time I saw him (last Aug)... so I think Im going to keep that as my starting weight, so I dont feel so bad :). He said I should slow down a bit... try not to gain so fast. He said not to worry about it, but just to keep it in mind.

He said he wont do an internal exam until like 38 weeks, unless something goes wrong. I was surprised by that, but Im not complaining... I guess some Drs are like that because they dont want to irritate the cervix.

He basically said everything was going great, and we booked another appointment for Aug 10.

Oh, babies heart rate was 145 today, he was moving like crazy!
