10-9-2009 - U/S,Appt,1'st Class 33 Wks

Getting Pretty Excited!

So the last few days have been a flurry of baby activity!

Yesterday afternoon we had our last U/S... It was nice to see baby, he is getting SO big! As soon as i got in the room the tech was like "So, your Dr is a little concerned about Baby's size?" I was like... no... and she was like oh so you dont know why you are here then? I was like, no, he didnt say anything to me about it, I thought it was normal, and then it seemed like she put her foot in her mouth, so of course i was getting worried... But, he looked great to me, and we had out appointment this morning and Dr. Strauss said he is looking great.

I guess I had a low lying placenta before, that i didnt even know about, but it is perfect now, so there is nothing to worry about at all.

Dr. Strauss did say that the baby is measuring in the 58th percentile, so he is a little bigger than most at this stage. He said he would estimate him to be about 5.5 lbs already, but he said that the U/S can be off by as much as 20% either way, so he could be a lb bigger or smaller...

I am pretty surprised that we have a bigger baby, because Shannon and I are both fairly small, but I am glad baby is growing well and is nice and healthy!

My cervix is still long and closed, Dr. Strauss said that this baby is not coming out anytime soon! I just hope he starts to progress a little in a few weeks... i really dont want to be induced...

My weight is up to 142 lbs... i would have never thought i would get so big!

Last night we had our first prenatal class, it was sort of fun. Im really glad we decided to do them... i think it will prepare us much better, plus its nice to be around so many other pregnant people. I was the furthest along out of anyone, but surprisingly i wasnt really much bigger than the rest... some were even bigger!

Next week we watch the natural delivery video... should be interesting!

Dont worry, they also estimated marco to be close to 9 pounds, he wasnt at all! And he was anyways still so so very tiny!Keep in mind that they lose10% of their birth weight the first few days, but they pick it up quickly...don worry when they ay BIG baby, i promise, they are still so so so tiny! I look at marco and cant believe he was THAT small! even thought they said he would be huge,,,whatever:) Healthy is all that matters!

glad everything is well! we go for another u/s on mon b/c our boy is big too! at last appt when i was 33 weeks and 3 days, he was measuring at 38 ! but i also know, like you said, the u/s can be off by a pound! so we'll see!

glad everything's going good liz!! i can't believe how big the baby is already , your so tiny. :) but that's good means you have a very strong healthy baby!! oh i can't wait for the classes , are they funn :) hope all is well , can't wait till you have your baby. oh and thanks for the idea on my blog will try it for sure. :)

glad everything is good with you and baby... my son is in the 65 percentile... so if your baby is 5.5 sheesh mine is probably i dont even know lol
