21-4-2009 - fair weather friend pissed, againMy mood while writing this blog:
pissed, again

So, I have this "friend" She's been around for a few years about 5 or so. My daughter is 4 months older than her son. Well I found this playschool for both of them to go to, just an hour and half 2x a week, nothing major, just enough time for them to socialize with kids their age. She'd drop her son off, I'd drop my daughter up and then I would pick them both up. She had to be at work at 11am and I didn't go to work until 7pm so it was really no biggie..until I started getting sick.

The 2 weeks that I was in the hospital neither one of the kids went to playschool. Once I was out I told her that I wasn't going to be able to pull his carseat out of my car anymore and she said, to just knock on her mothers door and her mother would do it... to me, that's not cool to have a 50+ year old woman come and pull on a childs seat.

So because I was suppose to be on bedrest, the plan was for her to come pick my daughter up, drop both kids at school, then come back to my house and put both seats in my car. No problem...that's one less ride I have to take. Well, I called her to see if she was on her way and she tells me that she didnt know that she was suppose to pick her up...and that she'd be ther in 5 mins. after 20mins I tell my daughter to go get in the car that I would take her, she was going to be late, but she was going to be there...she enjoys playschool. The friend calls me on my cell and ask me where was I at 5 mins after the kids are suppose to be there, I just told her that I didn't like to be late. She then ask if I was going to pick her son up and I told her yes I was going to pick him up on time and told her that she needs to pick mine up on time. She then hangs up and sends me a text message saying that her son isn't going back, then another text message asking why didn't I tell her sooner that I needed for her to pick up my daughter. I was so mad I didn't answer either text. I still havn't talked to her, don't really want to.

What would you do, if you were in my situation? Continue to be a duck in water and let things roll off your back?

nope this wasn't her 1st time pulling a no-show. I remember a couple of years back when I was working nights that she wanted to get some overtime but because she didn't have a babysitter I told her that she could take her son over to my house with my son. Well, she never showed for work. I just thought that she changed her mind...nope, when I got home, her son was here and she wasn't. Decided that she would go to the club with a friend of hers....there have been many a times that she has taken my kindness for granted...

Some people play the role all day like they dont know better, but its up to you to figure out if they really did. If you feel like she was just tryin to give you the run-around, then wait til she contacts you and dont worry your pretty little head about it. But if you feel like she was genuine in her misunderstanding then chalk it up and we'll see if it happens again? Sounds to me like she might not be too responsible though, but its hard to tell from one isolated incident in 5 years.
